Marquis (Volney) will be in town next weekend. Let's get together and have a little fun. I don't know the exact details yet, but we did talk about making a run and finishing up near the airport on the 9th.

This is completely informal. Not an organized TWR event. Anyone else have any ideas on where to drive or what to do? I kinda want be in the pack for a change, but I'll lead the way if I must.

 

I think it'd be really cool if dmp showed up and led this time. He has a ton of experience as far as knowing the great roads. The only issue would be keeping the number of cars down to a fun amount - like less than 6.... otherwise he won't participate.

That route you posted had been part of a couple of our runs, and includes some of the roads I cut my teeth on.

Kristopher - What's the latest on Volney? Do you have any idea of the timeframe we have to work with on Sunday - like how early he wants to get on the road and when we need to drop him at the airport?

I haven't had any brainstorms about the route - have you? Isn't the map from Whitebeau for a route up north? I was thinking Sammamish Valley, but I thought I heard there is going to be a bicycle event going on... I could be wrong though. I bet Volney has some roads he'd like to take, or has taken before - have you guys talked about it?

Sunday I've got to run up to the north-east side to see a guy giving away two porsches...that'll be at 1500...What time was anyone thinking for Volney's meet?

 

The wife unit is refereeing soccer that day. Can't make this one. I have no life I guess.

Okay, just got off the phone with Volney. He flies out at 3pm (means being at the airport around 1pm) on Sunday, so something Sunday morning would be good. I'm still at work for a few more minutes, so I'll talk with him more later on.

 

wheew... I thought this was tomorrow. I think i can find a sitter for Sunday, sweet.

Kris - what was that one drive I missed in September where you started in Newcastle and drove east and came back to the playfields off Maple Valley Highway? Would that be a good route? Did you get any ideas from Volney?

How old is your child(ren)? Volney and Tracy always brought Kaitlyn with them on drives - she started with us when she was one and she's going on 3 now. She'd sleep through the twisties - it always amazed me!

 

9month old and 4 year old.... yeah 4 year old loves it when i tear around in an open parking area(Boeing thank you).... I never get serious with them in the car though, and just the remote factor of 'something' happening on a spirited drive, i'd never forgive myself if an outside factor came about. .... though for some reason they both fall asleep to Initial D (eurobeat) music like no other...
