and yet..you watch ****? lol..j/k j/k
what do you mean..dirty? ..not all anime have nudity and sex.....
only pornime has those.... there are a lot of anime with great story lines and kick-*** graphics.... if you have time and bored...check out crunchyroll.com and watch some.....such as konan, sola, bleach, fate/stay night, trinity blood or naruto.... it's free anime website. some of the anime might be a bit too grapic for children though..but still...most of them have great story lines.
and...fyi : sakura-con is not just anime........it's anime & video game convention..... it's like three-day halloween party with a lot of free concert and shows...

lol...yes, it is anime. But i've never seen it....I think it came out around the same time as Macross......A lot of older anime have really good story lines. ...... It's just that I'm not really into older anime...... I like newer ones.....they're more bloody and grahic...haha....... One of my favorites is Gundam series..it's similiar to Macross... But anyway...... you're around Seattle, right? You should come to the convention, if you're not doing anything... and bring a camera if you do....
I might wear a costume...haha...i know i'm such a freak. :D

Voltron, Defender of the Universe!
I didn't even know something like that came to Seattle. I might be interested to go although I haven't watched anime since Dragonball Z and Rurouni Kenshin.

Yea..it's been going on for about 7 years now...maybe longer... I didn't find out til about three years ago. Portland has one also....they have it at Red Lion hotel every year..i think...not 100% sure....it's called kumoricon..... they both have websites..check them out, if you're interested.
I think our sakura-con is more well-known and popular.....you guys should really come...it's really big....you'll be suprised how many anime fans we have here in washington. It goes on for three days - 28th to 30th.... But saturdays are the best... they have free concert and shows on saturdays.
Did you know...they're making a voltron movie with Toby Mcguire?? I can't wait to see it!

^^ lol that's one of my objectives...
A lot of people think these conventions are like for kids. But I was so surprised to see tons of people in their 20s and 30s first time I went there. But then again..it's understandable because most anime series are not really for children. And I was more suprised to see a lot girls costumed up. I thought I would be haning out with a bunch of nerdy guys like me. man..i was wrong!
But you won't see a lot of japanese girls though.....so don't get your hopes up..haha..
Go there on saturday and make sure you go there early .......and stay there long enough to check out all the rooms and free shows......they have cosplay fashion shows and stuff. And I think they've having some famous Japanese Band performing saturday night.

Nice, I wasn't aware that there was a cosplay convention near me I'm not sure if i'll attend all 3 days but I'll definitely try and attend the Saturday one. I've always wanted to attend one of these...although the ones in Japan would be even better to attend, but can't take my 8 all the way there
I'll be making the 3 hour trip to go up there

You're in oregon, right? Portland has its own convention...Kumoricon..... Was it over for this year? I think it usually comes later in the year though... Have you ever been there? I've been thinking about checking it out..... I'm not sure it's as big as Sakura-con though.

i haven't been to either. I always thought cosplay conventions were in places like CA, NV, IL, and NY. However, I'm pretty sure Sakuracon is going to be larger than Kumoricon since Seattle is a larger town after all
Kumoricon is being held during Labor day weekend so I'll probably end up attending both just to see the differences between the two.
Anyhow, Seattle's not that far away and it gives me a reason to drive up there and visit some friends i haven't seen in years

We'll be there!
And Kumoricon is a bit smaller than Sakuracon, but growing every year. Personally I like the atmosphere of Kumoricon better--especially since the convention is in the hotel (means room parties).
There are more and bigger events scheduled at Sakuracon, however.

Lufty! Long time!
Actually I haven't looked at the guest list yet. Try looking on the website: www.sakuracon.org -- they may have it listed there, otherwise try going on the forums to see what they say.
You know you want to make the trip~

Hey, Kari.
I'm quite tempted to make a day trip on Saturday. I've never actually been to a con though, and it seems that none of my friends here are willing to ride with me. I may have to venture out on my own. I can't think of anything else to do this Saturday.

DO IT! There's plenty of things to buy, so despite coming alone, you'll be leaving plenty full.
While I don't know where the heck I'll be on Saturday at any given time, chances are you'll definitely find me running around in the exhibition hall looking for stuff to buy or in the dance that night--so you best come say hi!
(Although my hair's quite a bit longer and I may be wearing a hat, so you may not recognize me) x.x

Kari is speaking on a panel from 5:00-6:30 in Workshop 2 room 205 on Friday. Sakuracon is many times bigger than Kumoricon. Kumoricon had 3000 people last year, Sakuracon had over 10,000 and expects many more this year. This year will be the 10th Sakuracon.
