I get 270 - 280 when I'm mostly on the highway driving a consistent pace. But that is with the light coming on. In town then forget about it. 15 - 16 mpg

I just figured 18 because I like to plan high cost for things just in case. Worse that happens is I get better than 18mpg.

Anyone know the status of whether they are going or not yet? I still really want to go, I am tempted to fly and rent a car. Hopefully I can get a Mazda 3 or something.

I can't both afford the time off work and the gas. I checked the prices on tickets on virgin air and it's like $120-180 pre tax to go there and back depending on the flight time and day.

I primarily want to go see the 787B, so bringing my all stock RX-8 doesn't really contribute anyway. I also have some friends to visit in SoCal, so trying to kill a few birds with one stone.

Another option is ride down with someone and split the gas money. It does not help gas is already $40 per fill up. If it gets to $50+ than I may not go.

About that for the guys coming from Seattle, WA if the gas is $4 per.

At the current price coming from Portland, OR, it would cost me around $280 round trip. If the price jumps to $4 per then it would be around $365. Of course this does not include food, hotel, drinks and what ever else

Are you considering going? I wasn't going to, but now I'm thinking I might spur of the moment try and go since it looks like I won't be doing the Australia trip.

So you going? If you decide to drive down... I'd probably be willing to head down Thursday night/Friday morning and split the gas and driving. Text me tomorrow and I'll start talking to my... boss... the hierarchy immediately above me is a bit confusing ATM, not sure who I report to right now
