Sup with the RX8 owners in Boise

I know there's plenty of RX8's in boise... where are ya'll. How come nobody races their RX8's at the autox and how come nobody shows any interest in joining www.idahorotary.com ? Soon as I get an RX8 I'm gonna break the mold around here and actually use the car for what its meant to and actively participate in rotary gatherings.... just to prove not all RX8 owners are too good for other rotary guys

raspyx7,

What do you mean, "break the mold around here...and actively participate in rotary gatherings".

Can we say Sevenstock8?! (ppl from your part of the country actually drove all the way out for the event)

HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS of Rotary guys got together two weeks ago. We had a blast.

You should really do your homework before making posts like this... I'm pretty sure I've seen local clubs in your area.

I would definitely check the regional forums for more info.

well I don't think you have any clue what your talkin bout man. I have been a part of the local rotary club in Boise for half a decade and have autox'd equally as long and there has yet to be an RX8 owner actively participate in either one in boise. I'm talking about Boise specifically

We've had 1 or 2 come to the meets, but nobody in Boise is terribly active with their RX-8's. Like i said to you before most of our local 8 owners bought a sporty family car with a warranty, nothing more. These people havent had the joy yet of working on their own cars really, with their warranty they cant tweak or tune them; or add bigger upgrades. We may get lucky and get 1 guy thats getting into them, but it may be a few years before we get some of the more hardcore people in the club.

I'm on the Idaho Rotary club mailing list, but I haven't participated. I'm 150 miles from Boise. I keep telling myself to just go to at least one event, but I haven't made it yet. If I was in Boise, I would be there all the time.

Hey raspy,
I started to take part but really found that i just did not have the time for the club. I find your post a little annoying because of the fact that you accuse every Rx8 owner of being too good for the other fellow rotary owners. You need to realize that people do have their own damn lives, just because you are a freak about racing and rotary's doesn't mean every rotary owner out there is going to be. And to be honest, i found every meeting that i went to to be absolutly boring. Like the other poster here said, there is liittle to do to these cars without either fking yourself on warranty or just wasting your cash on tiny little HP gains. To me its just not worth putting much cash into an already great car. SORRY but the whole club scene was just too boring for me. All the guys in the idahorotary club are great guys but its just a little too boring for me to sit in meetings that revolve basically around 1987-92 or so cars. I have no desire to tear apart a perfectly good car and when i do have probelms with the car, well FK mani can obviously afford to have it worked on since i could obviously pay 30k for a damn car. I may be a little rude sounding but sht RASPY get over yourself and your damn autoxing

if ya wanted a grocery getter you shoulda got a Honda man... geez us FC owners dream of owning a car like yours and I can't think of anything else but driving it daily and autox'n it. I can see where your comin from on the select crowd, but thats because none of the RX8 owners around here are into their cars yet. Heck if I had one I'd keep it stock for as long as I could. They're great right outta the box. I get frustrated with most of the local RX8 folk because when I wave at em or try to say hey they just turn their nose up n putt away.

Jeremy,
I understand what you are saying.
I struggle sometimes to make our meetings more exciting. I even get bored!
Maybe if we had more participation from people, it would get more exciting?

Grocery Getter

Look Raspy,
You want to get ugly.......i can do that, but i don't think i should waste my time doing so just to give you more to fire away at me and look like a clown doing so. Well **** it why not. For you information the damn car was bought for my wife. My F'N "Grocery Getter" is my Dodge Fkn' Dakota. Like i said in my last post i just don't have the time and my other hobbies and interests are far more important to me personally. Also since i did mention this car was bought for my wife I'd like to say this also. Yeah all you other rotary owners probably do dream of owning a car like the RX-8, but personally i dream of having a long happy marriage with my wife, and if you think that going out and buying a 30 thousand dollar car for her and trashing the **** out of it causing me to repair, and spend thousands more on it is the way to keep my wife happy.................THINK AGAIN!
As far as the "not waving at other fellow Rotary Owners" **** Raspy I even wave at the Rx-3 i see every single day on my way to work. So this is all i can say to you at this point. Check your god forsaken Eago before you get into your car and you just might find that respect your looking for. If ever i do happen to run into you on the street yeah i'll do my best at giving you a run for your god damn money, but chances are you won't be looking for the race because you will have ******* assumed that "MOST" Rx-8 owners are to good for you.

P.S. RXTASY, I really do wish you guys luck with whatever happens to the club. I appologise that I could never really take part in it much. I think what you do is great for fellow drivers and for the community alone. I am a firm believer that "Good" car clubs really do keep most car enthusiast out of trouble and the racing on the track or the strip. I know its not much but for your information i will for as long as i own the car continue to sport the idahorotary.com logo on my car, who knows maybe it will help get some more folks curious about what it is. On the flip side though, if you do not feel i should continue to sport the logo then i can easily respect that and will if asked remove it from my car. Good luck and have fun with your ride.

Alls I'm saying is you started it. relax man I wasn't directing anything to you specifically in my first post. I didn't mean for peeps to take it the wrong way... just give ya'll round here ****.... we all ask "where's all the RX8 folk". You gotta understand the rotary community worldwide is a rather tight group and we like to embrace all generations. Mostly I would like to see more locals racing so I can get a better idea if thats gonna be my next car or not... and we only have 2 RX7 guys that ever show up to autox... we are lonely... lol.
