Sykart Tukwila Spring League
Hello people, Sykart's league is back and with a new course. They modified the last track to make it safer with wider lanes making passing a bit easier. League starts with qualifing on Feb. 15th and the first race on Feb. 22nd. League is every Tuesday at 7:00 for eight weeks.
They run both the 6.5 HP and the 9 HP on the track at the same time. Fall leage had 10 drivers in the Pro Light class (9 HP), which was split into two light races a night, they had 5-6 in the Pro Heavy class. The GT class (6.5 HP) was also full and very competitive. They had about 6-7 people in both the heavy and light class. Pro Light was at 170 lbs and Pro Heavy was at 200 or 210 lbs. I can't remember the weight minimums for the GTs. It's ok to be over, but if you are under you have to add weight to the cart to meet the minimum weight, and yes they weigh you after each race, gear is included in the weigh in (helmet, pillows, ankle weights.) They have 5 or 10 lb weights which can be added to the posts behind the seats.
A league race is 40 laps with one manditory pit stop and runs about 25 minutes. It's cheaper to buy a $250 credit pack which gets you 25 credits. I think it costs $25 cash a night to race, but only two credts, so it'll save you $5 a night.
League is a lot of fun, and the people who race are a great bunch of guys and gals. If you've ever wanted to qualify for the 9 HP karts, this is a good way to do it, because you will improve and be qualified by the end of the league.
Unfortunaltely I'll have to miss the first 3 races, but if there's room I'll enter half way in, which will take me out of the points, but I always secure last place anyway

Have you been on it since we had the meet? If not they changed the back half, and it's even faster than before. The fast guys are getting 32.5 sec laps
