Jingle Ballzzzz!
Hi Mike! I missed the Leavenworth trip in October (
), but made the September drive
. I'm missing tomorrow partly because of a holiday event with friends, but also partly becuz I need new tires. I've been sliding around lately and I don't wanna crash

Nope, All Seasons again. I've been on all seasons for 2 years now - almost 30K miles, which is the life of these. I'm gonna get them again - good tire for the money, and I drove in snow last year. Kumho Ecsta ASX's. And you've seen me drive, so you know I'm hard on them

Wow, just got back from seeing you guys off - freaking huge turnout. Hope you have an awesome time! And no more spinouts (i.e. Matt's friend in the S2K)!!

Kinda crazy run. Mishaps aside, it was a good time! Huge turnout, 18 cars? I forgot to bring my camera this time, though a lot of the time we were in fog anyway.

Quick overview of mishaps. Brian’s S2K spins out hits guardrail, Corvette engine failure, police stop us to tell us we need front license plates and to not speed, Kristopher gets a little bump from behind, Tuner’s day ends short with transmission issues, and a Honda overheats.
Ok that wasn’t too short.
With this being said I think entering into harsher weather conditions. This would be a great time for everyone to take their cars in for a tech inspect. This will help keep everyone safe as well as help keep money in your pocket before a accident happens (Brian’s S2K will need a lot of body work done).

Holy smoke!!! Those are a lot of mishaps...! Thank goodness no one got a ticket this time... but that might have been a lesser evil given what happened to some people
Kristopher got tapped from behind... wow, that's a first! Damage?

Yeah. I'll get a pic up later. At the Carbon River bridge on 165 (one lane bridge) I had to stop short to avoid a truck appearing from behind the guardrail (downside of low slung sports cars). The car behind me slid into me (fairly low speed) and tapped the drivers rear corner. It doesn't look like TOO much damage, but I need to get it inspected.
That aside, it was still a good time. It did demonstrate some wrinkles that I need to iron out, though.

But see, of all the mishaps with exception to Kris's rear end getting tagged. None of the RX8s had any issues! 2 Hondas, and a Chevy!
Once again the 8s rule!

The VW kid was a trip, entertaining but hardly the normal kind of driver on these trips. I hope the general craziness of all the mishaps won't put any of the new people off.

Sounded like the fuel pump went on the vette. I heard over the radio that someone spun but damn, I thought they came through alright?

I guess that can happen on those cars. Best case is new timing chain and gearset. Worst case is new valves, pushrods pistons etc. since it's an interference motor.
He's not sore about it since he was driving and it could have happened at any time. Just kinda disappointed that it's going to get real expensive.
