TWR Night Drive - 18 August
A Mid Summer Night's Drive
You asked for one, so here it is. August brings the first ever TWR Night Drive. Join the hunt Saturday evening, August 18th, for A Mid Summer Night's Drive. We'll meet in Redmond and follow backroads to Monroe and beyond.
http://www.the-winding-road.com/modu...ent.php?eid=18
Note, this event will be held in addition to the regular Sunday Drive you've come to expect.
If you're one of the folks who've been asking for this, be sure to show up. I'll do more if there's attendance to justify it.

as of right now, I am going to go to this, but it may change. Kristopher are you going to put up a map, address or an intersection so I or any body not familiar with the area can use the nav system!!!

Yeah, that'll go up tonight. I've had business meetings all week. It's exciting, from a long term perspective, but I have to find a way to do that stuff without it getting in the way of my real responsibilities.

Meeting in Redmond at the Bella Botega shopping center. Kitty Corner to Tullys, adjacent to both the Cinemas and Coho Cafe. We're rolling out at 11pm.
I've never done one at night, so we'll see how it goes.

Kristopher - Ughhh... I'm not going to make it tonight afterall. There has been a flurry of activity over the sale of my boat and I am toast right now - really beat.... It would be dangerous for me to drive, let alone in the dark! Sorry to bag out at the last minute. I hope you guys have a blast - I'm sure you will!

Are the photos posted up yet?
That was a good drive for me, esp. since I don't go that crazy on public roads often. That and the darkness, rain, misting, low level of the HID cut off and most importantly the unfamiliarity of the bends (esp when they were blind and undulating in elevation) made for some pretty tense moments. That and I wouldn't want to drive off the road in such a far out rural area (BFE?) then coicidently some passerby offers a ride/tow assistance at 2am... classic premise for a horror movie?
Good fun. Thanks Kris and Zack for waiting up for me.

Pics will be up tonight. I was just to beat to bother opening the trunk yesterday. It was a great time, and with the turn-out, I think I'll do more of them.
I hope you had plenty of success with the boat, Linda. Too bad it got in the way of driving .
It's pretty well standard ops for the faster cars to slow down in the straights and give the back of the pack a chance to catch up. It's really the only way to roll with such diverse driving backgrounds.

Sorry, ISP trouble.
Considering it was dark, rainy, and The-Winding-Road had never done one of these before, I'd say we had a good turn-out. 8 cars showed, 5 made the drive, and 3 finished (2 bailed at Monroe). Pics are up at http://www.the-winding-road.com/modu...&orderby=dateA
