The home built boost-where-my-muffler-should-be system. Probably running a gt3071 with 4 stage boost controller and methanol on the last stage. Basically, I want a 10 second push to pass button with a timer so I don't over use it.

Anybody going to the Autocross practice day on the 17 feb. 08 in Bremerton Sport Car Club? I am going to go, but I don't see what time or how much it cost on there web site!!!

I find it hard to believe how many people complain about my very modest fee for repeat drivers for 3-4 hours of seat time while they'll gladly shell out twice as much, and more, for 4 minutes of seat time plus the requirement of having to help run the event.
Not bashing autocross. It's entertaining, for the 3-4 minutes you get to drive. I just think the value proposition should be very much in my favor. Oh well.

Power!!
Keep the faith. People will complain about anything they have to pay for anything. Some may stop showing up but others will gladly pay and continue.
Like you said. A whole afternoon of entertainment with the family without TV is a great deal.
The Bremerton track day was a lot of fun. The weather was miserable but once we were in our cars it didn't matter. The rain actually was good for the exercises as they wet down the track anyway.
The morning consisted of the driver instruction school and then a series of 3 exercises designed to:
1)Keep your eyes up and aware of your surroundings
2)Learn how your car breaks free in hard cornering and what to do to catch it. Drifting baybee!!
3)How to stand on the brakes and steer in a panic stop. I was amazed at how well antilock brakes let you steer through a corner when you're as hard on the brakes as possible. Not just locking them up but standing on them all the way through the corner!
Lunch was served from a small small mom and pop Chicago style hotdog stand. Mmmm. Brauts and polish sausage FTW!
The afternoon consisted of a turning oval exercise and then an autocross course. You could really feel the difference when you were looking up and shifting the weight of your car properly vs. when you were playing catch up through the turns. If you were doing it right the car would oversteer in certain places as you tried to get on the gas early. If you did it wrong the car would push in certain places as you were in the wrong place when trying to push it. The RX-8 always was able to tell you when you did it right and when you did it wrong.

Great Autocross Practice Day, the weather was great and it was a nice turn out. I did make it tru all 4 pass, with out hitting a cone. So now a guest I need to work on getting faster. I figure, I need to control my acceleration and breaking and some how work some thing out with the gears. Sense from what I notice, most of the other cars, go to second and leave it there for the rest of the curse, but sense the Rx8, has no power in the lower RPM, I did find my self on first gear at 9,000RPM most of the time. it was fun, fun, fun!!! I can't wait for the novice class on March 2 At 7:00am.

Well the track day yesterday was great!
And my springs still suck.
The good news is now that I know the problem I no longer care about the noises and just push the car harder.
It was cold but the rain stayed away and the track stayed dry. I got my shifting down smoother and was starting to work on ratcheting up my corner entry speed and trying to get my turn in points consistent. My turn 4 braking was much improved but I'm still working on the turn in points for turn 2 and turn 9 trying to hit them consistently.
All in all a lot of fun.
I did get the good old blinking cel coming out of turn 2. It was listed as bank 1 trailing spark misfire. After talking with Scott at Mazsport he believes it is due to fuel starvation since I'm coming out of a long left hand sweeper. I had 1/2 a tank and the car didn't sputter or bog and I didn't get any fuel pump codes but I tend to believe Scott as it only happens at that same point and it was recorded at 5.5K rpm and only 57% load which is not when I'd expect a misfire due to the ignition not keeping up.
