not yet, but then again, Florida cops don't know that WA state plates are front and back. I'll be putting it back on before I transfer back up there tho.

Not sure about WA cops, but it seems as though most of the members on the forum here do not have their front license plate mounted. Most have only had problems if they were getting pulled over for speeding first. We are required to have them here in Texas, but after attending a local meeting I realized that not one club member in my area has a front license plate that I know of (myself included).

A side note, talking of WA plates reminded me I needed to renew the tags, so thanks dmp.

One weird thing though, I renewed online and it gave me a year and a half instead of just a year.

There was a thread a couple months ago about this in our NW forum...concensus seems that most do not have it and haven't been hassled about it.

My front plate hasn't been on since I got home from the dealer... (I took the mount off as soon as I pulled in the driveway).

I have white wheels for my winter tires (don't give me a hard time I paid $90/wheel for 17s) and with the front plate on I would look like I was riding in an oversized Bugs Bunny. Won't happen to me. So no front plate and I never get hassled. I've driven the car all over the Pacific NW and not a single cop seems to care.

I should be getting my plates within the next couple of weeks and am still undecided - looks much better without. I'm driving in the Seattle area.

For what it's worth...the result of 5 minutes with a 10mm socket, and a phillips screw driver... :D

It's likely the glare...they aren't that bright in real life - from most angles

Mine is mounted (Personalized as well EMS, watch for a Black RX8 with "007DAWG" plates in the Issaquah area) up front, but I got a pretty dark cover for it, so it's not the bright white plate on black. Not perfect, but it helps.

I've had more trouble over having dark covers (on my old RX-7) than for not having front plates at all (on my RX-8). Although I've havn't yet been stopped while in my 8, and I only had two warranings about the covers. Plate covers are completely illeagal in Washington, tinted or clear.

The only time I was ever hassled about no front plate was when I was ticked for speeding several years ago. I think the police have better things to do than pull someone over for not having a front plate.

Indeed - for no other reason that to generate revenue... (sigh). God Bless Washington - The Nanny State....where, if it's FUN, it MUST be illegal.

/rant over.

I do not have a front plate. I do have the Mazda Speed front end though and there is obviously no place to mount it. I have had no hassles with it either.

I still have mine on but i bought a mount that sets it almost in the middle of the grill making it look a lot nicer then having it on the factory mount. If i can ill try to get a picture up when i get back from my deployment

I have no front plate on my rx7 or my rx8. I've been running no front plate on my rx7 for a year and a half now with no problem.
