Well I'm Not Going to do the Silver Over Black and Red 335i.

Well I'm Not Going to do the Silver Over Black and Red 335i.
I am changing my color selections on the Car. ::9 It's Gotta Be finalized tomorrow so It's come to this.
THE REASON? OK, My new Chair Showed up Tuesday, it's red leather as well, and I am not really feeling it. It looks good, but it's also.... WELL? RED. This is just one chair Mind you, not four seats and a center console. Turns out, I am just NOT that into Red...
So I've decided that I am NOT going to do the Silver over Red-N-Black.
Instead I am going to go either Black or Grey Leather With the Dark Poplar Wood. And Either the Arctic or Blue paint.
PLEASE HAVE A LOOK AT THESE TWO LINKS, check out the colors and tell me what ya think.
Arctic Metallic Thread Scroll about 3/4 of the way down for best examples.
Notice the Color Differences here between sunlight and cloud... The arctic has a lot of interest...
-Lights out
-Lights On
-Same Car but Overcast... I'll see a lot of this.
Montego Blue, Bright In the sun but shifts at night and on cloudy days. I like it. But it's intense.
The Blue REALLY Changes a lot as well depending on the lighting, but it's always more intense than the Arctic.
Another.
And a Last couple of shots from similar angles in similar light.
Arctic
And the Montego Blue.
Colors over either this:
Or the Grey
WHEW!!! OK Enough Pictures and links and stuff...
Rev
Oh and Yeah, the Giddy Factor here is pretty High, Even if I'll be waiting forever.

silver is lower maintenance than blue, because it hides dirt & imperfections much better. i like blue, but not the shade u selected here. the gray interior is very nice to look at, but it does gets dirt very easily.
i have a metallic dark blue w/ the gray leather in my 3, and i like this combo a lot. if i could do it again, i'd still go with the dark metallic blue, but i'd probably do a black leather instead of gray.
my .02 anyways

I appreciate the input, especially from folks that have had a grey interior.
I am having troubles settling here. My initial reaction was that it was all about the Blue. Then I saw the Arctic at the dealership and it's an interesting mix of Greens, silvers, Golds, and Blues depending on where you are standing. Subtle though, which is kind of nice.
But the Blue is real pretty, so I keep dancing back and forth.

I think the Arctic looks a little too bland in the overcast pictures. It'll hide the dirt better but I just don't think it looks really classy (like the darker grey). Between these two my vote is for blue.

OK Here's the deal, Whatever you all decide is my final color is my final Color.
Between us here, Hayabusa.org, and NSRForums.com whatever color wins will be my choice.
So Far the Blue With Black or Gray is way ahead.

Yikes, too much pressure to be responsible for your car choice . This is all about you my friend
My perspective is that you are more of a grey with black interior kind of person, but heck, break out of your box! The down-side of doing that though is having buyer's remorse when the bright color gets too overwhelming. Example: I used to buy brown, beige or black cars. I decided to be bold and bought a red/black cobra. At first it was fun, but then it bothered me - I'm just not a red person. My 8 is Ti-Grey, as you well know, but at the same time, it is not my usual brown, beige or black (although I still love black).
If you go grey interior at least you don't have to worry about hot seats in the summer (ok so maybe like a week of hot seats!). Black might be less stressful in terms of keeping them clean and not worrying about stains or pen marks.
Just remember... if you choose what I like and then you have second thoughts, don't blame me! lol

All votes are anonymous! Which is cool. I've owned two Blue cars in the Past. My Long Lost Favorite Plymouth Hotrod was a cool Teal Blue also. So Blue has a place in my heart. A little bright but at the same time this Blue is pretty cool...
The choices above are all good, I didn't post up a color I really didn't want, or I thought would be too much work. Black is out of the question because of the effort involved in keeping it pristine.
These two colors are both options I was looking at before deciding that I wanted Red leather. You cannot get either of these with the Red leather, so Silver was the best choice.
Now however with Grey or Black as my interior options I can revert to the Blue or Arctic which was my first impulse.

Well, I was hoping that the BMW Folks weren't going to be living up to any stereo typical bs, but alas there is a decent number of real I dunno, Wannabee Monied Snobs??? It's like they forgot that they are only driving BMWs and not Rolls-Royces. That it's just a car, sure it's a nice car, and they drive good, but it's just a car....
Most of the folks I've interacted with have been really cool, but there is just an attitude a few of them have, so you know... I kinda wanna mess with em' a bit...

So Far all Told We are at.
Arctic Metallic: 26 Votes with a lot of folks not reading the post thinking it's grey or silver.
Montego Blue: 48 Votes, With some Criticism of it being a "WannaBee M Series Color".

Here's the deal. Toss all the votes out the window. Ignore anyone who gives you an opinion on what you should get. Now, close your eyes, lean back in your most comfortable reading chair, put your arms out, stretch your legs, and drive the car. Feel the road humming gently under the tires, see it undulate and slide beneath you. Hear the wind as it slips by the windows. Now, while in this blissful state of nirvana, look a little closer. What color is the hood? What does the dash look like? Now you know what your soul wants.
I'm a red car person, big time. But when I run this exercise with your BMW, I actually get quite the surprising result. Once you've placed your order, I'll let you know what I came up with, but not until you've asked your spirit what it wants. You've done all the logical bits. Evaluating multiple cars, considering your requirements, options, etc. The last bit is purely emotional, and unless you make the decision on purely emotional grounds, it'll be a bad one. Even if, by some miracle, your logical mind makes the same choice your emotional mind would have, it'll still be the wrong one, 'cause you wont know you made the emotional choice.
So, consider the driving experience. Drive the car in your mind, feeling, seeing, hearing, and even smelling everything about caressing the road with your beautiful new machine. And when you're well and deep into the exercise, then you'll become aware of your true desires. That's the right choice.
If anyone's missing a soap box, I think I found it. Your welcome to retrieve it any time.

Real Good Point... Ya Know this car could be delayed until July, means I get to enjoy the sounds and look of the RX for a few more months maybe...
I will miss the Rabid chainsaw exhaust note.

OK folks we have about an hour or two left here to vote, So far the totals are as follows...
Montego Blue has a commanding lead with the majority of Blue Votes coming from the North West Folks.
Montego Blue: 63
Arctic Metallic : 39
Arctic Metallic is running about 50/50 on both National Boards. e90post and Hayabusa.org. Interesting.
Thanks for the help BTW, in the end of course it is my decision, but when I find myself in love with both colors and right now ordering an Arctic Sedan and Montego Coupe isn't that practical, I figure putting the decision in the hands of the Majority is a good way to go. Otherwise it would be a coin toss.
The Grey leather is off the plate though I think. A lot of good reasons NOT to have a light grey interior in the North Wet. Thanks again.

i think u should use our opinions as a reference, but not as the sole means of deciding. that said, i looked on bmw's site again, and i still like the darker metallic blue (Monaco Blue Metallic) over the Arctic or the Montego. the darker blue has many merits. first, it's two colors in one: during the daytime it's blue, and at night it's black. second, it hides flaws fairly well (esp swirl marks), but at the same time isn't high-maintenance like black. thirdly, it blends in well on the street and isn't too flamboyant, but it isn't totally invisible either. if u get some chrome wheels on it, it will look really nice without being too shiny like the Montego. but, if u want a really bright, noticeable blue- then Montego is the way to go.
