I wish I could make it to the next meet, but as some of you already know, I'll be moving to Southern California.
It was great meeting everyone for the first and second time and I wish everyone the best.
Great pictures Darin, you really got some skillz with the camera.
Jose, maybe you should cut back on working out or else you won't be able to fit in your car.

I think having the families along gave the event more color than usual, which is great. That's why Mazda gave us the extra doors and seats.
Sorry Darren & Linda, this is the first I've been online since 8 last night.
I'm definately down for another run in July. This one has to be south-end though. Darren has done more than his share of commuting for these events. There' are some great roads we talked about waiting for the boat, so I've already started coming my ref's for a good route. Of course, if you know one, post it up. I can do maps again (I did some playing with my second program, and will probably do a hybrid topo/turn-by-turn next time around (I may even be able to get usefull distances on there).

We had such a blast on the drive. It was our first group drive and it was so much fun I want to skip work today and do it again.
Thanks everyone who showed. It was such a pleasure to meet everyone, hang out for a day and "use" a sports car.

Yeah Thanks everyone.
I enjoyed the drive.
So how long till you got on the ferry? The drive took about 45 mins to I5 then about 45 down to multi, where your ferry would have been.
But I enjoy driving so the drive instead of the ferry was nice for me.
Oh and my name is Shane not Shawn. But that is OK I am used to most americans not understanding my accent. I get called Shawn, Shine, etc all the time so that is cool.
I menat to ask you linda, where do you do your autocross, cause I want to get back into it again, but was unsure where it is around here and what the requirements to race were etc.

It only took us about 20 minutes or so to get on the ferry and it's a short ride to Mukilteo, then about 45 minutes to Renton. I was home by 6pm. I couldn't do any posting when I got home, as my network was down...
I don't know that much about autocross, except for what I learned in this thread:
https://www.rx8club.com/nw-rx-8-forum-33/2-rx-8s-yesterdays-autox-85024/
I went out on some of the websites they referenced and found the ACE Ladies Practice on a day that I could make it. There were some other events prior to that which sounded great. I can join BEAC, the Boeing Employees AC club. ACE (Auto-Cross and Convertible Enthusiasts) meets monthly very close to my house. I've only done the ACE Ladies practice event so far, and all I really needed was a helmet, shoes (I usually drive without shoes on... argh..), and a car that passed tech inspection - since my 8 is new, no problemo.

Cool,
Yeah I work for boeing as well so I can join BEAC. I will check out their website.
I got home at 7pm by the time I dealt with traffic at everett. And I stopped for dinner as well so that took a bit of time.
Oh and here is a Pic of the Bimmer I took on my way back from cali at crater lake.

Cool, maybe I'll see you at BEAC events too. Sounds like the time home was similar. I was pretty beat though, so it was nice to chill on the ferry. I tried keeping up with Darin and his family on the way home south, but you know Darin, plus he had the car-pool lane!!! All I saw was dust...

Whidbey Island Run
I just read about the June whidbey Island run, to bad I just found out about it, I live in Oak Harbor and would have been interested in such a get together/drive, I just purchased a 2006 RX-8 Shinka a couple weeks ago and thought I might be interested in sharing the same interest with people who also have these cars. Keep me in mind for the next scheduled event if you get the chance.

Mdmliberty - I'm assuming female 8 owner? If so, I'm always trying to find other female 8 owners in the northend. I think there are a few in the south end - like Olympia and Portland. I go up to Anacortes about once a month, so could meet you up there sometime.
