For Christmas
1)Under Hood Light & better dipstick location
2)Integrated Aux In for Mp3 players
3)Better mileage
4)Supercharger
5) Working Oil pressure, water temp, water pressure gauges
6) Lighted shift **** would be cool
7)Clear Corners
8) Forced Induction. We know you like to play it safe and balanced but some of us would like to compete with the big boys. I have faith that the engineers can create and aggressive F.I. option (large hp gain) that will be reliable and maintain the driveability of the car.
8)No 10Mm Bolts!

Yeah, I endorse the dipstick position fix. In a poorly lit area, it is very hard to replace it after a check. Further, I think a supercharger option should be available. They are cheap, reliable and obviously an easy way to boost hp. How about a spare tire reposition? It takes up so much of the trunk. Just a few more inches would be helpful when putting golf clubs in the trunk.

You can also get small bunge cords to permenately fasten it to the seat.
If you don't know what I mean look up head rests.

Amen brother!
Plus I would like a rear window wiper. Takes too damn long for the defroster lines to clear the fog/dusting of snow off the window.
A non integrated head unit.

Theat light need to be positioned along the firewall so you can see the dip stick.
You can offer this kit with instructions.
Also,
Insulate the glove box with cheap stuff. Use good insulation under consul for cold drinks.
Insulate the doors to make it ultra quite.
Don't forget the light in the roof to see the sliding roof.

WE ALL NEED TO FOCUS AND REMEMBER THE POINT OF THIS THREAD! ADD sucks.
I am all for:
1. Forced Induction (SC please) that will not void warranty (example: Toyota TRD)
2. A longer dipstick to make access easier and an under hood light.
Better prices would be nice too. Thank you.

Immediate Needs:
1. Access to all Mazdaspeed parts such as MS-01 wheels in all colors (bronze, gun metal, silver), new MS wheels (split 5). Simply put, take the JDM Mazda RX-8 site and make all those parts available to the US market.
2. An aggressive flash tune to take full advantage of the MS CAI and catback at least.
3. Forced Induction. Toyota has TRD superchargers, Dodge has 3 stages of turbo upgrades for the SRT4; all of which are backed by warranty. If you did this, MANY would flock to dealerships for installs. Mazda you are a 'racing' zoom zoom company, show the world your pedigree.
4. MS vented hood.
5. Consider both Manual and Automatic cars with future upgrades.
**These are definite needs if you do not plan to release a REAL MS RX-8.
Mid to Long Term Needs:
1. RX-7!! Toyota is bringing the Supra back, Nissan the GTR. Mazda do not bow out. I am certain you can steal sales from those competitors as well as Porsche Cayman buyers if a new 7 is priced right and has at least 300-350 HP weighing in at 2500-2700 pounds. It could be a turbocharged, supercharged, or 3 rotor... This car can exist alongside an RX8 such as the GTR and Z can exist. For this to be successful, however, that hydrogen engine will need to at least be an option for better gas mileage to bring the RX8 more mainstream.
2. Do not make a MS CX-7, rather make MS accesories that a potential buyer could apply to their CX-7. Most buyers will not care about a MS CX-7 (I WOULD, but not most like my wife...)
Do this and I will be with Mazda for the next 10 years at least (my car AND the family cars)

Sorry, forgot one important thing: Mazda, be more visable in racing competition, specifically, Rolex GT. Help those SpeedSource boys win back to back championships there as they did in the ST class!! You know the saying, race (and win!!) on 'Sunday' sell on Monday...

Yeah I really like my RX8 but the power to MPG is just so out of balance. I have a top of the line RX8 6 speed with several power mods.....and still it is not able to keep up with the 350Z and many other cars...I got smoked by a Saturn ION RED (some factory standard performance version)...not sure if it was stock or not. So I love the RX8's looks and handling, but the power is just lacking and the MPG are driving me to the poor house. If the car had another 50HP with the same MPG then that would be acceptable but I can go buy cars that are getting 350+HP and still get the same MPG as the RX8.

The first thing I think Mazda should do is easy. Look at what people are replacing when they buy an 8.
1. Clear corners standard in US market
2. Larger Exhaust tips, less bulky can underneath so it is not visible
3. The 8 has a bad reputation with alot of people. A little better marketing can go along way.
Everyone says more power, but I bought the 8 for what it is. A good handling 4 seat car, but everyone wants to compare it to S2000's and 350Z's which are 2 seat sports cars. If Mazda wanted to be in that market they would leave the Renesis alone, make a 2 seat platform and the weight savings would put it closer to the Honda's and Nissan's.

* A factory installed handling package--shocks, springs, sways, better tires, and brake pads that don't suck. I understand it's hard for Mazda to boost power levels. Emissions laws and reliability concerns are a real bitch. But they could throw on a differently tuned suspension from the factory, and it wouldn't have any effect on emissions or reliability.
I also understand the need to keep the suspension compliant enough to not alienate all the masses who want a real-world, liveable sports car. But surely an option checkbox would be easy to do? The FD had that one option, what was it...the R1? I mean yeah, I can buy the MS suspension kit, but then you have to pay to install it. Why not just take the MS package and install it at the factory. I think Mazda is really missing out on easy profits here.
* Along the same lines, maybe another option for lighter flywheel + louder exhaust?
* Would it be asking too much to have a MP3 decoder in the "premium" Bose stereo? When you can buy MP3 player for under $100?
* MS concept bodykit
* How about a replacement trunklid, with integrated "ducktail" spoiler. Not everyone likes park bench spoilers. The rear of the car looks sort of bland and weak compared to the front. There's already a company that makes what I'm talking about for (I think) $400. Make a better fitting pre-painted Mazda version for say, $1000. I think this type of spoiler looks better with the MS bodykit. The MS bodykit looks more like a Viper GTS hardtop, and the ducktail thing is more in line with that sort of look.
* How about selling a ECU tuner?? "For off-road use only", and it voids your warranty, just so you can wash your hands of any liabilities. Oh well, I guess Cobb will have this covered soon enough, but this could have been a great way to kickstart FI development much, much sooner. It's been 3.5 years and we have basically 2 decent turbo kits and no s/c's yet. After 4 years (hopefully) we will finally have the ideal solution (Cobb) that we should have had from day 1.

I think it will also sensible for people to know more about Mazda parts throughreading some manuals and browsing Mazdaspeed sites.
