And wait till you see what you are going to dissect with the hacksaw. If you don't do a double take and read the instructions several times to make sure your not seeing things then you got real *****. Of course now you know something is up so it may not surprise you.

Yeh, if your hesitent on chopping it up wich is recomended (because its the cleanest way weve seen the job finished) you can also use a seperate vaccume canister either fabricated or purchased from a speed shop.

I'm just playing with olddragger, but we did look twice. Maybe he can get Shinka to come hold his hand.

All are welcome to watch the backyard(not youre usual backyard) mutilation/transformation Holding my hand is NOT an option.......lol.
Depending--- I may want to use a separate cannister setup that Peterson makes ---would be sweet on the washer site on the passenger firewall.
Guys I am really looking forward to this learning curve, I will be breaking the supercharger cherry in georgia I believe. Then maybe I can be somewhat of a consult, rep etc. I must learn how to tune. Tuning is patience, experience, the right tools and a good feel for the engine. No wonder I am no damn good yet!
some questions please:
1- What numbers are being obtained and what drive ability problems(if any) ya'll have seen with the int x and just the base tune?
2- Where have ya'll mounted your maf?
3- any compressor surge , is the relief valve built in?
4- how often and how do you change the compressor oil?
5- are the belts easily obtainable?
6- has anyone used the mazdaspeed front strut bar with this unit---clearance?
7- air to coolant cooler--what kind of coolant is used?
Yall tired of me yet!
deposit on unit has been sent--awaiting int x --4 wks estimated

OD, shink213 has the mazdaspeed strut bar with her supercharger, but it needed a slight mod to get it to fit. PM her for a pic of it, it's hard for me to explain.

I've not dynoed yet so I will revert to Pettit's conservative claims of +60–80 HP & +50-70 lb-ft on stage !! set-up. The driveability is superb... about 200 miles highway and city in FL right after install and during tune session. About 800 miles to NC... read Earlier Post for more details. The only real issue I have seen as of now after running a full tank in city only is gas millage is now about 180/tank and was about 220/tank stock and because we pumped up the oil metering I just ran down a full qt on one tank. I need to discuss this with Cam as I think this may be a bit over kill and well I don't want to be adding a half qt every half tank. Bare in mind that I was eating 1/2 qt. a tank on highway. I'll report more after I speak with Cam
2- Where have ya'll mounted your maf?
Pat Shink213 placed her on the induction tube right after the filter. I opted to not use it. Pettit will be releasing a CNC'd induction tube with the MAF mount.
3- any compressor surge , is the relief valve built in?
I've noticed nothing in the way of unexpected or unwanted surges... Even with the A/C condenser kicking on and off.
4- how often and how do you change the compressor oil?
I recall Cam saying about 30K. All it really does is splash around though... It is not like it gets "Burnt".
5- are the belts easily obtainable?
Yup.. standard as the day is long.
6- has anyone used the mazdaspeed front strut bar with this unit---clearance?
Pat has it with a custom Moon @ Pettit bolt extender modification. Still utilizes the brake cylinder stabilizer screw too!
7- air to coolant cooler--what kind of coolant is used?
Radiator I have 15% coolant 10oz redline water wetter and rest water. Intercooler is 2 oz. water wetter and rest water.

Man--what support! Glad I picked this unit, I really appreciate my "induction phase"--no pun intended My questions were answered perfectly.
I dont want pictures of the chopping up of the upper intake manifold--- might make me curse in front of my children.'........Jk
The little bolts and spacers for the MS front bar was sweet..Lowes/home depo here I come!
Hard waiting--
Ok if the base map is good for the 50-60 hp range(at the wheel?) etc--how much is being gained by fine tuning?
again thanks people.

I wouldn't worry about going to Lowes for that stuff, Cam told me that doing that to mine wouldn't be an issue.

Royal Purple? Lol
From what I understand Mid October will benefit everybody---end of story.
250 at the wheel and plug and play--verrrrrrry good!
I have already heard from another close by that will be getting this kit in a few months and will want to help with the install. Maybe i have started something in Ga--we can all meet for the GA/Florida football game!
I am really thinking about tank relocation and washer fluid tank change with some perterson units.
also thinking about steel braided hoses
thinking of a engine damper
thinking true CAI
thinking poly engine mounts--(may be coming).
I think to damn much.
Going to have to add a comment like Skinka "Mods---not enough"
Sorry to be asking so dang much---I will give ya'll a break.

JFYI, compressor surge has nothing to do with feeling a "surge", and nothing to do with the AC...

I hope my ignorance does not really shine here, but I will give my response my best definition and explanation. I have not noticed any stability issues in the way of what I understand surge to be. I have not noticed or felt any back-flow or air-flow distortions that cause a loss of power. I mentioned the A/C compressor kicking on cause under load, I assumed it was possible for the additional and unexpected pressure to disrupt the flow and make the s/c unstable. Compressor Surge, as I think I have it, can ultimately damage the compressor as the disrupted air-flow from too high pressure can cause the screws to stall and that is what causes damage.
I am opened to be educated on this if I understand it incorrectly! We don't need anyone following someone who may be blind!!!

Well let me say welcome back and thank you for your duties to our country.
Those coils were under stock conditions... not even CAI or Ram-Aired. It is just a weak design any 8 over 20k could experience. I am not sure about the 06 or 07 models, but the 04,05's have had the toasty coils as far as I have heard and well, you can see what mine were.

Mazda changed the ignition coil OEM part number but not sure what did they change internally. Anyways, from a 20 years retired Army vet, welcome home.
