Damm, we need more s/c out west - got the race tracks - got the alternative FI, only two Pettit s/c. While mine is faster than a stock MT, I doubt that it would be competitive with a FI MT on a track. I may just give it a try.

i understood it was a "send it in" or come on in flash- when did it go mobile? are you flashing it out of the car ? or thru the diagnostic port? are you travelling with the tool in a laptop?

Being mobile with it is going to take longer then expected, sending it in is the only way between now and then. Due to delay on the portable unite.

Just remember a race is not going to prove anything. There is nothing to prove. We choose Pettit because we like it. Liking something is based on personal interpretation which is objective. Each kit has its good and bad. So cool on the mine is better than yours thing before someone brings a na car and gets around the track faster than either of you.

I was totally just kidding - all.

I even prefaced my "statement" if you look at the original post - lighten up everyone.

How far are you from civilization. I don't know where OIF-Land is?

I haven't run a turbo RX8 on a track yet, in other situations just not on the track.

I would like to see if the S/C would prevail on the track also.

On the surface it might seem that way but given the same boost levels and whp output, this will make 30 to 60 rwtq less then the smallest turbo. That translates into slower acceleration.

Yes but to Ray's point. It will depend on the driver. If the driver with the more torque doesn't brake properly or hit the apex properly the torque adavantage won't matter.

OSCD am I right?

Key word there - I'll chime in and say lets run the three - drag and road course??? WHy not; make for some good video!

When I get back to CONUS I am down - but there should be all three in FL now that can meet up. Would be cool to watch.

I envy the desire I see here. Meanwhile I'm waiting for a transmission replacement. Unless I get an upgraded transmission I don't think I would be willing to do any racing on this car

Maybe just my bad luck with a syncro.

any race would probably prove nothing because the excuses would start to come out even before the finish .
OH - my tune is not right yet
my boost controller was not set right
my turbo is worn out
blah blah blah yakity yak

Friendly races should not invoke excuses (I know they typically do) - the point is to have fun and see where the real world-ish gains lie in these very expensive toys of ours.

yes - I agree some freindly racing would be very interesting . An inpartial test and write up by a good driver in several different fi cars would be awesome .

We could join Kane and have a hell of a good race on the streets of Baghdad, miss a shift and loose your life. From the looks of it on TV, there is a autocross layout in vehicles that lost. Not sure about Friendly!!!
