Hay Ray, I did remote mount it, it's about 4" off the manifold. Do we need to move it more?

I AM the first commercial pettit install

maybe its the oldtimers creepin up on me...
So too, Shinka, did you have me confused by this post. I thought I had kept you well clear of my field of fire; I didn't understand what made you chime in on that post. It wasn't, in fact, until today, when this guy in my garage named Moon told me your name IRL was Pat; then I understood. You believed me to be referring to you when in fact, that line was a reference to Pat Sajak and an old game show...

The last laugh is on whoever DOES NOT have Moon Assad install his/her/its Pettit SuperCharger. I've been around a long time; probably at least as long as you, Charles. I"ve worked on a lot of motors and been around a lot of mechanics. You see, my grandfather owned a Chrysler/Plymouth dealership. In the muscle car days. Yeah, I been around that long. I've seen wrenches and grease monkeys, I've seen these pathetic little punks with their tuners who think they're mechanics when in fact maybe 1 in 100 of them really know what they're doing besides swapping parts and loosening the pin on the grendades they're creating. I've seen guys who live their trade, but it's been a long, long time since I've seen anyone, in any trade, live and breathe their profession like Moon Assad. It has truly been my privilege to know him and watch him transform my RX8 from a really, really nice car to the really, really nice well mannered car with a hidden drum of kickass under the hood that it is now. It was also the best experience I could ever have helping him; I know my car so much better now and have so much more appreciation for the engineering tha wen into the Pettit kit to make it work and fit. The flash is the secret, and it is flawless; the car idles better than stock, smooth as silk; POT and WOT power delivery is perfect in every place I tried it, in every gear, including WOT in 6th from 2500 rpm. Now, my car has the power to match its handling. Moon, I hope I didn't scare you on the trip up the mountain, but that's my house, and I know every room, line, and turn. I hope the old dude in the pickup had his nitro tablets with him...my son is still talking about it, too bad I swore him to secrecy.

So, to anyone who wants one of these Pettit Superchargers: yeah, there are probably guys like Charles who say they give a professional install. Could very well be so. Better hope they're at least half as good as Moon in my experienced opinion. Moon got some backhanded **** from so-called buddies in this forum, not to mention some people who need to step away from their computers and get a life, maybe move out of their momma's house and quit living vicariously throught their avatars. People who insinuate that maybe Moon doesn't have the right stuff but don't have the ***** to come right out and say so because they let their mouth get the better of their judgment over the perceived anonymity of the internet. Yeah, there are probably good mechanics out there who can install your kits. But you should hope that when the job is done that your engine bay puts the factory to shame; that the wire looms are wrapped/routed properly, and that your "installer" has the experience with this kit that Moon has. Be sure that they have actually assembled your supercharger personally, that way they know exactly what makes it "tick", so to speak. Make sure he's willing to sleep on your floor for a couple of nights in a house that you haven't even moved into yet. Make sure he's not charging you by the hour but is willing to stick around until the thing is right because he values his name and reputation that much. Munche, you were dead on. Moon is an utter perfectionist. I learned a lot from him both as a mechanic and a person.

The end point is that if anyone wants a blower installed and can't make it to Pettit, here's the chance for Pettit to make it to you. Anybody who wants to see my install, PM me. YouTube is next. And to Cam at Pettit: this is the nicest piece of aftermarket engineering I've seen for a car, period, and the only one in almost 30 years of tinkering that has actually exceeded my expectations for performance right out of the box. It blows everything else away, pun intended. Keep it up, I'm looking forward to the new goodies Moon told me about.

Merry Christmas to All,

-Zen

Myself, I really am not all that concerned with how I FEEL when people criticize me. I don't like it, but if they are right I have to accept that and address it. The people with whom I am disappointed(and don't be too quick to assume you think you know who they are) seem to also be too quick to allow idiots like myself, who are "beneath" them, to bother them. When our heroes seem so easily affected by bullshit politics from we peons, what are we to then think? And when some people have different experiences from what the consensus seems to believe, what are they to do? Keep quiet about it? Where is the mechanism for consumer advocacy and the truth on this forum? The dark corner of the "good guy/bad guy" forum?

Anybody wanna criticize me or my stuff, I say let's discuss it.....even in public. I am more concerned with doing the right thing for people who ask me than I am to try and sell my own products.
All well and good, Charles, but you seem to have a little of your own ADD going on here. I never, ever came in here to criticize you or anyone else, I came in here to help people. I came in here to make people aware that a very capable mechanic was going on a supercharger walkabout and if they wanted a piece of that action, here was their chance (I'm damned glad I did, it was worth every penny). One of your buds then made post insinuating that Moon couldn't do the job, thereby pissing on me and Moon. I don't care if he had the brain cells to know what he was doing or not. Nobody in this incestuous little blog seems to be able to follow that thread of logic. Swoope, Dorkus, and Nevada Phil wanted to test their muscle. I pushed back. The only reason anyone is pissed at me is because I stood up and called their bullshit, and I'm still calling it. I didn't start this thing. Don't try to bury any hatchet with me, Charles; you equivocate like a politician. I know very damned good and well what ******** a bunch of "professionals" with egos can turn into when you put them in contact with each other.

Politics, you call it. Well, if you're part of the politics, you're part of the problem; it's the same thing as selling your soul. I don't practice politics; for better or worse, what you see is what you get. It seems to me that the politics here, as ITRL, is running off the good guys.

Zenrx8,

Nice tirade!

While I'm just a non-committed bystander to the SC or even turbo at this point, I am glad your install went well....looks like you got an early Christmas present.

In terms of all the others crap...you're right on some points and wrong on some. That's all I'm gonna say....and of course that is my only my opinion/perception.

Merry Christmas everyone!
Dang Zen---you may be as old as I am?
Muscle car days---man what memories---i didnt have enough sense to realize i needed better brakes on that 55 Chev i dropped the big block in!
I certainly agree that this is a good kit and i am glad I got mine.
Now if i can only get the chassis back to the way it was before all this power.

Zanex, congrats on your install. I don't understand why you would think anyone is "pissed" at you, or that something was "started". Did you feel like you were being picked on, and you valiantly defended your "good" name? Makes me think you felt the members of our "incestuous little blog" cared what you had to say in the first place.

Even if you perceived me as slighting Moon, why would you ever think any good could come of you trying to "call people's bullshit," when you yourself have allready admitted you didn't know much about the engineering of an RX8??

Moon is human, which means like you and me, he is not infallible. It also means he can speak for himself, which myself and he have allready done via pm.

I had enough respect for Pettit developing a product for the 8 that any "minor" issues I may have had w/ the install I addressed via pm, or by calling the shop directly.

If it is so easy for you to dismiss others on this forum who also have experience and are trying to help all of us by calling them "politicians", how does that make you any different than those of us you feel have tried to "test your muscle"?

Furthermore, if that's how you feel. Then why post here at all?

On Zanex, I allmost forgot.

I guess the fact that I responded to your whining must mean you didn't "push hard enough" against my prodigious digital muscle flexing.

Who will ever decide the winner of this "internet" tango??

I have to say at this point, I feel my thumbdrive is much bigger than Zanex's.

Sorry, my fault for thinking it was over after I IP banned him the first time and going to bed. I feel special- it's been a long time since someone started creating obscene user names aimed at me. he also sent me some incredibly creative pms. Too bad it wasn't me banning him after the first time- it was all Abbid.

It was the theft of my "flaming rotor of death GIF" that led to International Jackatar Day, which is coming again in two months.
