No. What's the MSRP? Anything over MSRP out the door is 'not' a good deal.
Start negotiating at Invoice price. Subtract that $1000 Rebate, and go from there.
I'd try this:
Invoice: 32,650
Discount: (500)
Rebate: (1000)
Finance Fee: -0-
Doc Fee: -0- (unless imposed by the state in which you live)
License Fee: 278
Tire Fee: -0-
Tax 7.75%: 2414
Total, out the door: $33,842
Start negotiating at Invoice price. Subtract that $1000 Rebate, and go from there.

They did pull the invoice when I asked them if they do "The Costco Program." But the MSRP was $36,044.00.
So basically with their quote I'd be out the door for 35,189.05.
Do you seriously think 33,842 is realistic for an '06 with Nav and GT package?

Here's invoice from Edmunds.com - albeit for MY area code:
https://www.rx8club.com/attachment.p...id=75548&stc=1
MSRP out the door is my standard of a fair deal.
I'd offer what I suggested - Invoice, minus $1000 rebate, and NOT pay any fees not mandated by the State of CA.
Shop around.

My worst California car buying story was a friend trying to buy a new PathFinder for his wife a couple of years back. That dealership had *added* $6,000 to MSRP as a "market adjustment". When my friend said, "What's this horsesh*t? Drop the market adjustment b.s. and be serious!" the salesman simply shrugged and said, "That's what they're selling for," and walked away. My friend bought a Honda Pilot for less than MSRP that same weekend, but the takeaway from the Nissan dealership stands - be cautious of the hotter car markets.
Congrats on the new car and congrats on the deal! $500 over invoice isn't bad at all.

Interestingly, the added markup on my car took it to $39K believe it or not. I didn't even question it, I simply asked them if the do Costco agreements and they were agreeable to 1K over invoice and that went over so easy I made another offer for the $500.00 over invoice. They took that too and at this point I hadn't even talked to my wife yet. But she was cool about it so I now have four rotors in my garage...kind of scary!!!
