05 GT cost

I went to the dealership today and drove a sports package, and loved it. I do want the GT model with all the extras, sunroof, leather and so on. However, the quoted me 35,530 with the tax title and tag. I've heard people getting them for what?? 28,000? there is no way I'd pay that much for the rx-8.

What would be a good price to negoiate it to from 35,530 (2,323 tax) for the GT or the 29,500 (2,000 tax) for the sports. (this includes the tax, tag and title)

Total ripoff. Run, don;t walk from that dealership. 05's should be at least several thousands of $ off MSRP. Much closer to invoice, as the 06's are already starting to come in. Check out carsdirect.com, usually have some pretty realistic prices, and sometimes you can even get more off of that.

And don't get screwed by financing your tax and tag with it. That's wasted money in interest charges.

Well I bought my 2005 in Oct. 04 just when they came out. I have the GT pkg, everything but nav. Sticker price was a little over $33k. Didn't have any rebates or incentives either. I walked out paying $30,100 cash(tax, title, license incl.). As other have said, check around there are much better deals to be found.

look around if you could get a check from any finalcial intitution you have a better chance of talking down the price with a check is like going in there with cash it's better than their financing unless you have excellent credit you might get also a $500 off from mazda your choice

Check the Sunday papers. There are always deals in there. I found a $5000 off deal at a local Mazda dealer and thats what I used.
