09 Touring Quote

I was wondering what you guys are getting quoted on 09's? I just got quoted 25,600 for an 09 Touring. The sticker on the window is 27,620. I would like to see it closer to 25k. Are you guys having any luck getting deals?

You should be able to get way less than that. I got a quote on an r3 that was almost 4k off sticker.

Just tell the salesman that you are a serious buyer, you do want the car, and this is the number you want it for. Cut out the haggling.

Yup. Decide on an amount you are comfortable with and go with it. Even if they say no at first, just tell them to call you when they will sell at "x" price and leave. You will likely get a call back and get it for very close to what you want. Most dealerships are desperate right now.

They are going out of business; but I agree, it's a good start on negotiations! They have a used '07 too: http://www.senatorautogroup.com/deta...e%7C4D&ID=3614

I've got a couple of them going against each other now. So they are both coming down a little bit more. I think I can walk away paying 24,500. They are both down to 25k as it is. I think I'll just tell the guys closer to my house to give me that price and I'll sign papers. I feel like a f#!%in giddy school girl, I love this car.

24,5 is not bad but I think you could still get lower. I guess though at that point it just depends whether you want the car or not.

This is without the premium package or with?

Without the premium package I'm assuming?

I got mine (w/ package) for 26k, down from 31k sticker price

It's without, the problem is they are still kind of selling in FL. So they are coming down, but I don't think I'm going to get them under 25k. I have two dealers quoting 25,600 and 25,900 I told them that if they can do 25k we have a deal. So I am just playing the waiting game now. I think they will come off the price.

Honestly, if I got mine from 31 to 26k, you should be able to bring yours down to 24k/25k, will just take patience..

the sticker on the one I am looking at is 29,885, so almost 30k. He said it doesn't have the premium package but that is more than just a base Touring. After researching I just built on on mazdausa.com and a touring with the premium comes to 29,885. So it looks like that is what I got quoted on. He is offering it to me for 25,600.

I have also been looking for a Touring model with the premium package. I'm currently leasing a 2007 Touring and since it's ending in a month, I've been shopping around to find a good deal. DarkLord, did you finance or lease your Touring? I keep getting great deals to purchase (21k for a base, 25k for Touring (non-package)) but somehow I can't haggle the price for a lease...

not bad for 36 months, i guess. probably should have leased from a sale price. unless you're in the 600s or lower (do you know your money factor?), i think they started you at msrp, but that makes the residual lower than it should be, and it makes your payments higher. had they taken 3k or 4k off and then calculated, your payments would have been considerably lower.

and, with a lease, no mods for you cept ms.

it is harder to negotiate a lease in your favor especially now with all the old "red-carpet" type leases kicking the industry in the ***. but it can be done.

edit: sorry, that is a really good deal. i had a different number in my head to start. good job.

The MSRP was 31,000$, I negotiated the price be dropped to 26,000$ and the lease be calculated off that, wherein they offered the 500$-600$/mo (tax not included) options (12-39 months) and then I had them drop it to 399$/mo with taxes included

Seemed good to me

Hi guys, I just got a quote of 30,235 on a 09 GT with Prem & Nav (MSRP 34,570). That was a little better then I was expecting. Think I could push it a little lower? Maybe I'll try for 29,500.

They seem to automatically be cutting $5k off new RX-8's and Miata's right now. Of course roughly half of that is factory incentives so not too much dealer skin in the game. If you are (or at least appear) serious I think you can stand firm on a deeper cut.

Came back from the dealership today and I have been able to drop the price, however the residual value is killing me. I have to say, $399 is a tremendous deal. The best so far with tax is $460. Most likely, I'll just make a deal with a sport model and save some money for tires to come, lol.

Got a new internet quote of 29,299 for a GT w/ nav but when I got there the best they would give me was 2k more than that. Guess they just use the low quotes to get people in the door. I think I'll wait a little bit and see if the incentives change in the coming months.

On another note, I let the salesman drive on my test drive since I'm new to manuals and didn't want to break anything. Does that big hump on the passenger floor annoy anyone else? i couldnt get my legs comfy.. guess i wont care much when im in the drivers seat

could be your credit score or the terms too. what is the mileage you're asking for? how many months? trying playing with the months. if you're at 36, try 39. if you're at 48, try 51. sometimes it changes the residual in your favor. in any case, the payment will go down at least a little.

if that won't work, what about a buy on a used one 04-08? who cares about the r3? there is more aftermarket support for the earlier ones. and you can steal one right now.

did you talk to the internet guy when you went in? did you tell them you would buy it at the internet quoted price RIGHT NOW TODAY?

the hump doesn't bother my wife, if you know what i mean.
