2004 Rx-8

What do you think about the price on this RX-8. I think this is a great deal. Should I consider or keep looking?

Unreasonably low price indicates some sort of problem with this deal. Do an Edmunds.com pricing on it and you will see what I mean. "If it's too good to be true, it usually is".

Edit: Here you go. I did it for you.

May be salvaged at that price.

If this is any indication of the true resale value of a used RX8, we have every right to be extremely worried.
It would seem to me, though, that there is something specific to this vehicle that is depressing its value.

Well, we all know that the general public does not trust rotary engines. We all know this one is better and different than the last generations, but look at the track record. I have never seen an FD advertised that didn't mention it had a new engine. I'm sure they last longer if you take better care of it, but most people don't, and many people dog their cars. I am counting on being able to pick up a base RX-8 in any color except black (does not age well) in a year or two for well around $16,000 with maybe about 50K miles or less. to pay over $30K for one of these is crazy to me, now they are trying to sell for $28K when a new base is far cheaper. I'd rather have a new base than a loaded one used, and I think most would too.

The rear quarter or end is probably wrecked, that's why the pic is from the front.

I just bought an 04 with only 1500 miles on it, the price was 22.9K and that is a deal for the car. In my area (Upstate NY) that car blue books for $26,130 retail. 14.1K is way to low. I found one car when I was looking in CT, for 19,900 and that was only low because it was a theft recovery and the insurance paid it out. I would totally look into this one more.
