2005 RX8 Reliability?
Im looking at a 2005 Mazda Rx8 with 38k for 14,000. Are 2005 RX8's reliable, I know the 04's had 4 recalls. Is this worth me snatching up. Im also looking at an 07 Sport RX8 with 33k for 17,900. Do i have room to negotiate the price and is better than the 05?

Eh just read threads on the forums regarding reliability. Seems like there are 3 groups, those who's motor got replaced, those who's motor are fine will eventually be replaced(prematurely), and those who are driving around on a blown motor and don't realize it yet. Aside from that it's a great car, seriously, extremely comfortable, great styling inside and out, awesome handling.
But don't pay those prices, way out of line. You didn't say what trim the 05 was, but even a Grand Touring $14k is way too high. As for the 07 Sport Edmunds has private party: $13,000. Dealer Retail: $14,000. I would look for a 05'-07' Grand Touring with similar mileage for under $12,500. Make sure you get a compression check before you buy and make sure they have all the maintenance records

I got my 05 a couple months ago, with 37,000 on the clock for 10,900. From the reading I did when considering my purchase, I saw a lot of threads in the troubleshooting section that pertained to '04s. 05s didn't seem to have nearly as many. I would have preferred an 06, but Winning Blue stopped after 06, so it really slimmed my choices.
