2009 or 2010 R3?

Lately I've been thinking the exact same thing, I've got an 05 with 35k miles on it, and I'm thinking about an R3, I'll might go to one of the stealerships and see how aggravated I can get.

They were trying to sell me a 2008 Mazda Rx8 "R3"
With the " R3 styling" but it looked exactly like the one I had, and I told him the R3's are only one the 2009+ models and he told me I didn't know what I was talking about. It was a 40th anniversary edition Mazda Rx8 too. lol

If it's really and truly bothering you, I would make a move to something you feel more comfortable with. No need to continue on with the headache.
If anything, switch up to something which doesn't place a heavy load on you financially.
Goal: Be safe financially while remaining stress free
Good luck.

Personally, I like my headache. I can't think of any other car I want to have, for me is either a trade to an R3 or wait till the next Rx comes out.
OP, where in FL are you????

Another friend's Bmw 335i (think it's a 335i)
has had so many problems that he had to get rid of the car
Yeah, I agree. Well, aren't they bringing back the rx7? Rx7's prices were about $35,000-40,000 back in the 90's right? So wouldn't that be kinda pricey? And I live in Palm Coast.

I drove an R3 while shopping and I hated it.... It did not do that much better in the twisties... at least not enough to justify the price difference.
just my .02 but I do not think there is enough of a difference to justify dropping your standard 8 for an r3.
I would rather spend some money and upgrade the suspension on the one I have. its not like the r3 is a complete redesign or a power factory.... now if the r3 came turbo charged or super charged with about 60 more ponies then we would be having a different conversation....

Exactly. Aside from the Recaro seats (which are a bottom of the beholder item anyway), with the money saved you can easily replicate the suspension and rim differences.
Of course we all hope the RX-8 goes out with a special edition FI Mazdaspeed model, but doubtful.

The 09 and up rx8s are far better in many ways in reliability not just tweaks in suspension and facelifts. The new engine has the same power but better engineering in oil supply , cooling , and more. It has a third oil nozzle placed in the middle of the rotor housing which should take care of the problems the older renesis engines had,new metering pump and water pump. Ive had my 2010 R3 for 8 months now and i love it. Still slow but handles nimbly and light and i can put my family in it. Smooth engine as well too. Im a tech for Infiniti but still wasnt sold on the g37 or 370z although theyre fast not as smooth or nimble as the R3. The doors also make it easy to install car seats just in case you have a baby.My car will be staying bone stock 100% by the way.

Very happy to know that you and I think alike in many ways.
Btw, I'm keeping mine stock as well. No sense in messing with its natural beauty.
