6 CD player.... not!

The salesperson who sold me my RX8 (silver) on Monday, August 18, had told me about the 6-CD player that was part of the Bose system upgrade. The problem? No 6-CD player installed! Since there is a LOAD button and 6 selection buttons this salesperson ASSUMED this was a 6-CD player model. Nope! Apologies later, (after I had taken ownership), I am now told this is a future option.

Just wish I hadn't spent an hour of time trying to figure out how to get the LOAD button to work!

I'm not exactly sure about the legal ramifications, but they should install a 6 cd player for free. You purchased it with the info your salesperson gave you.

Frankly, I always know more about the RX I am buying than the saleperson does. I DID assume that the Bose system included the 6-CD player and the manual DOES describe how to use it. (Sure looks the same in the manual picture as it does in the vehicle...) It was to my surprise that the 6-CD was not there. I mean, for part of a $3900.00 option, what does it really cost to include a 6-CD changer in the package? Otherwise I would have not spent an hour before I drove it to the dealer to find out that it simply was not there. What a disappointment!

For those of you looking and ready to buy, ask the salesperson twice and with a witness... then you may be able to demand that it be there after you take delivery if it is not!

When I picked up my car the internet salesman (who I had never met) went through a new car briefing...he just flipped pages in the owners manual. Did not know the car....but he did say "since you got the GT version you have 6 Cd player".....

Me too- he insisted there was one, even though I knew there wasn't. I just didn't argue. Hope he didn't tell anyone else that too..

Not sure what the big deal is, I have the 6 cd changer (standard in Canada) and I have loaded 4 cd's in it and never listen to them. DOH!

Damn you Canadian's for taunting us like that again ... Yes we know that you get more features on the car AND pay less than we do in the USA. I will forgive you if you do a CD player swap with me as you never use yours, and I've never had a car without a changer in 9 years until now.

Yeah, but they don't get free loaners while theirs are in the shop. :p

I belive it is power consumtion used by the 6 CD changer in Canada that caused a good portion of the eastern seaboard to black out.

LOL, subsidize? Yeah we pay then they use our money, but of course they waste 99% of it.

So the 6 disc changer I got for free really cost me $10,000 LOL

Don't forget that we only get a 3 year/60,000 km warranty instead of your 4 yr/80,000 km.

Oh yeah we do get the pissers but no one too sure how effective they will be.
