Talking Allstate is my bestest friend in the whole wide world.

The guys at Allstate have been taking care of me ever since I left that god-forsaken State Farm, who I left because grand ol' Nationwide decided to raise my preiums when i had a lapse of coverage for 2 months because I had no vehicle to insure since I was in EUROPE! They said I should have paid them $100 per month for no coverage insurance... WTH is that about?

Anyway, Allstate wrote me up for a great rate when State Farm raised my rates because I had a motorcycle stolen. And the worst part is State Farm refused to pay out claiming I had no Motorcycle on my policy... So my question still to this day is how can you raise my rates on something you claim doesn't exist?

Again, anyway, Allstate wrote me up a plan that gave me more coverage at a lower rate then I had ever seen before... $400 less in the same area with a 750cc bike instead of a 600cc. So life was great everything was moving again and no problems. :-)

Then I get rear-ended in my RX-8. Turns out the guy who hit me was hit from someone behind him. The guy who hit me blames the very back car, and the very back car blames the guy in the middle. So I am sitting around waiting for a check from these guys a month later and they are still arguing about it!! I call up Allstate and they say they will give me a check for anything above my deductible. This of course isn't enough to repair my car and I don't really want to pay out of pocket. The lovely girl I am talking to on the phone understands my situation and explains it to her manager. Who before I even get a chance to cry calls me up and says, "Look these other companies really aren't treating you right. We are going to give you a check to cover the entire amount and we will get our money out of them don't worry about a thing."

I tell you the guys at Allstate use something other insurance companies don't even know the meaning of: Common Sense. They are keeping me a happy customer and nothing at this point will ever convince me to switch if they keep up this customer service! I dont' care how much that little lizard could save me.

Interesting.

When I had allstate in NJ, my brand new car (28 days old) was rear ended. They too cut me a check for the totaled car, but I lost close to $2,000 on the deal.

Allstate is one of the best insurance companies, period! I was sitting at a light at a 4 lane road in my previous car, and of coarse nobody was occupying the other lanes and this kid slammed into me. I got out and asked him what happened and he told me that he fell asleep. And hour later the police hauled him away but wouldn't tell me why. It turns out the car was insured but the driver wasn't and while the companies were trying to sort it out, Allstate paid for all the damage repair. In 15 years I never had a problem with them, of course I'm biased since my wife works for them, but this is the way they treat everyone!

I can't complain at all. I have my house and both vehicles insured through AllState. I was scared to call for insurance on the 8 when my wife said she wanted one. When I got quoted $377 every six months for full coverage with a $500 deductable I was grinning from ear to ear. (Told the wife to sit $500 of to the side to cover the deductable). I'm 33, clean driving record. Wife 24, clean driving record.

Sounds like everyone has had different experiences. I've never had a problem with State Farm--they've always paid my claims without flinching or delay (latest are three major body repairs in the last three years for about $5,000 total, including an uninsured motorcyclist who took out a fender and bumper). Either way, I'm glad that Allstate paid off, too--the thought of my RX-8 (when I get it in the next couple of weeks) being "injured" is too painful to contemplate.

Navy, how much coverage do you have? I have my house, condo, boat, umbrella and 2 cars with Allstate and pay over $600 every 6 months for the RX8. Both my wife and I have clean records and no claims.

I wouldn't **** on a State Farm Agent if he was on fire.
Long Story about an accident with injuries and SF offeringto settle then backing out ( not even offering to pay what blue Cross said I had to pay back because of the open claim).
Lawsuit has been dragged out almost 4 years. I don't care
about the money. It's the principle. Their insured rear ended me,
left 50 ft of skid marks, yada yada yada.
State Farm spends more money trying not to pay than if they just paid what they owed.

I agree with you may man. I have had Allstate for almost 25 years and Jim VAnce up here in Newport news has been my agent for 10 of them. Nobod comes close to the service they provide.

I feel like choking that friggin' Gecko....arrrgggggg or even drop kicking the little bastard!!

When you own a lot of stuff and need a lot of insurance you buy one big liability policy that umbrellas all the other policies. It comes out cheaper than getting high liability on all the other policies.

That's strange..........I've been driving RX's since '82. Allstate would not insure the 1993 when I purchased it new...no issues with my driving record.

Some cars where like that . It was deemed the car was too great a risk to insure no matter who drove it! probably due to HP or performance issues.

Hey,
Everybody has different experiences. You just cannot draw conclusions about the company based on one case. I have allstate and it is ok. Nothing great though. When my sister was smashed by an 18 wheeler, whose driver did not even bother to stop allstate paid but we had to cover deductible, although we provided them truck's license plates. They did not bother to find the guy and his insurance company and put it under uninsured motorist coverage. But then again they paid immediately. Another story concerns hail damage I had on my acura. They just cut me a check instantly after the estimate... nice ha... no waiting what so ever! I called Geico ones to get the quote and these guys pissed me off. They offered $180 in comparison to $85 I am paying with Allstate plus they checked my credit record 3 times, because I wanted 3 quotes depending on deductible. Isn't that ridiculous?

I hate all insurance companies.... Allstate MOST of all..... they're sly misleading bastards.

lol... You should hear you yourselves..... Allstate has you on lock-down with the Stockholm Syndrome.

Way I see it... theres a thin line between the Insurance Industry and Organized crime

If Allstate is the best how come State Farm is the largest auto insurer by 2X?

Makes you wonder eh?

Allstate kept raising my rates every year, like clockwork. I had no claims, no tickets, yet they still thought they needed more money from me. So I switched to Liberty Mutual; much better rates. I still have no claims, though I've gotten one speeding ticket since then. We'll see what happens.

My Allstate agent, also my neighbor, insures all his stuff with State Farm. No joke. Now that makes you wonder.

Used to have State Farm, but after State Farm took huge losses in FL after hurricane Andrew, they dropped me even though I never made a claim.
