Any end of year lease deals likely?
Given some of the maintenance problems, and as this is the time of year some good lease deals come out (I saw a Jag S type hyped at $299 per month), is Mazda likely to sponsor any good in-house lease deals?

car has been selling better then expected?
any proof of this?
I know of two dealers around me in Northern Virginia that had more then 10 on the lot at one time. With one of them actually having 16 of them. That specific dealer ran a deal for Automatic equipped cars starting at 23,995 which is just above invoice. And they were willing to sell me anyone on the lot for 3% over invoice and I didn't even act interested! they just flat out told me they would.
Even Kelley Blue Book now shows these cars as 'Real world' pricing being lower then sticker. SOmething that wasn't the case when they first came out.
I still have only seen 4 RX8's in my neck of the woods and I live in one of the most affluent parts of Northern VA (let alone the US). I still consistently see G35C's, 350Z', Z4's, 330's, M3's and 911's.. barely any RX8's.
I hope they are selling well for Mazda, but when they aren't its better for the buyer.
if you have numbers I would love to see them, I'm always interested in that kind of data:-)
thanks man!

Well Columbus is similar to northern Virginia right now I guess. The local dealers have tons of stock (2 dealers have over 40 a piece). I am in the market to buy in the next 3 weeks and all I had to do was show some interest and one dealer offered me $300 over invoice on any in stock RX8...the other dealer offered me $200 over invoice with free tank of gas & a free oil change. I have also contacted Trussville Mazda in Alabama and they are selling all RX8s in stock at invoice.

Check the media thread for the RX-8 numbers. They are selling as per Mazda's goals. You're not seeing that many because in a country of more than 250,000,000 people, there are about 10,000 on the road. Stands to reason you're not going to see a bunch. You see them at the dealer because Mazda is cranking them out- they want to sell a bunch of them, so they aren't limiting the numbers they release. It's not any kind of limited edition, the way the S2000 was supposed to be. They just have a lot in stock, and they replace them as they sell them.
You can get a discount on pretty much any car that's been out a few months, including things like the 8 and the Z. For a car that's selling TERRIBLY, try the Crossfire. The 8 is holding it's own.
And to bring this back on topic, I have no idea about the leases. Mazda itself isn't offering any special incentives on it, but who knows what individual dealers are doing.
hasg, what maintenance problems are you talking about? There aren't any more than on any other new model car.

There are never "year end" lease deals... special leases are offered on new models, because the residual value is the highest when a car is new. As a model goes through its model year, the residual value drops, and the lease price becomes less and less attractive as compared to the purchase price. Meanwhile the purchase price becomes more attractive, because as the model year is coming to an end, dealers are under more pressure to move current vehicles, in anticipation of next year's models. So basically, leases are the best at the start of a model year, and as the model year goes on, purchases become more attractive.
