Anyone use Costco Buying Program
Hey everyone...
I'm just about ready to start seriously shopping (finally)! I know exactly what I want, but I'm afraid it's going to be hard to find...
Velocity Red
Sport Package
Navigation
Rotory Accents (can be added on later)
The Sport/Nav combination is going to be hard to find (only 1 within 100 miles, and it has the spoiler and some other crap I don't want also) so I'm afraid the dealer is going to have to do some complicated trade with another dealership or order it outright.
Because of this I'm afraid I'm going to get screwed on the price. But while I was in Costco last night I saw a flier about their car buying program. I remember looking at that when I got my wife's car, but got a good enough deal at the dealership that I didn't need it. Has anyone got any experience with buying an 8 through Costco or any other program? USAA (my bank) also offers a negotiating service that I'll have to check in to.
Thanks in advance,
Andrew

I didn't buy through Costco, but I did talk to the dealership here that had that same flyer. According to them, they said the price would be around $300-$500 over invoice. I can't confirm that unfortunately since I did not buy from that dealer.

I didnt use the Costco program to buy my eight but just used it
to buy a G35 sedan for my mom. Sent off info to both Costco and Edmunds and got back responses from four dealers. Ended up going to the dealer Costco had contacted after they lowered their price to match the lowest one from edmunds. Hassle free expierence at invoice less $100.

I didn't buy my 8 via Costco but I used Costco to buy an Excursion for invoice + $500. I was able to get my 8 for invoice + $517 and so forgot all about Costco.
I would recommend to anyone buying a car to first check with Costco and get their pre-negotiated price with the dealer they send you to. That price is always good and can be used to shop other dealers to see if they will beat it.
