Buying a used RX-8
Hi everybody,
Im looking to buy a used rx-8, preferably 2005 upwards. What would be decent prices for her?I know it depends on the number of miles she has run, but what do you think i should look for?
Also I know that there is a 100k miles warranty on the engine core, but was this applicable for all the rx-8s(I mean 2004 included?), if yea then should i consider 2004s too?
Plus if I get a 100k mile plus car for a low price should I get it?Can I extend the warranty on the engine core even though Im buying 2nd hand? What bout the 2k$ drivetrain warranty, can I get that as well?
Any more things to look out for while buying 2nd owner car, other than to check if the manufacturers flashes etc etc were done?
Oh I forgot Ill be lookin to buy one in the Florida area, as I stay in Gainesville.
Also how are the maintainence people in that area since it is a rotary engine, I mean do they know their stuff?
Thanks

I was joining to ask pretty much the same thing
I am interested in getting an RX-8 with in the next 4 or 5 months but I'm trying to figure out as much stuff as I can about them first.
I really like the look of the car, and I driven one once and it was great but after that, I don't know jack except you need to check the oil after every other fill up.
Are there any major problems with them? How bout getting work done on them? Any specific things to look for with used one? (I am getting used one)
I'm not looking to do anything crazy with it either (I am no riceboy) and I don't plan to race it or anything. It will be an everyday car to me.
As I've read, you'll frown upon me greatly but I need to get a AT as I am unable to use MT vehicles.

^^ Unable to use MT vehicles?
The dealership I bought mine from taught me how to drive stick and gave me 3 hours of practice on an RX-8 after they closed. It is not hard, learn how to do it. It makes driving a car MUCH more fun.
But whatever
