California dealership that will sell @ S-Plan Price!
***Be advised I don't work for this dealership, I am just trying to help out other Californians find a good deal.
I just bought my RX-8 a few nights ago from Selma Mazda near Fresno, CA. They matched the S-Plan price (even though I qualified for it) and never asked for verification. They just said that they will honor the S-Plan price and not go through the paperwork. Therefore, I got my 8, GTP, MSRP: 31,100 for $28,508 (it had 15 miles on it).
The only catch is that you must take one that is in stock. And unfortunately they only keep 3-4 on hand at a time, so selection is not great.
Hint to get this deal:
1. Talk to the internet sales department (Al Ramirez, 1-800-924-5355 x2103)
2. Tell them that you have talked to other Mazda dealerships that will match the S-plan price, but you don't like the colors they offer, the salesman seems sleazy, etc.
3. Ask them to match the price.
This should work almost everytime since they just had an advertised sale for $2500 off MSRP on RX-8's and the S-Plan price is a little over $3000 off MSRP; therefore they aren't discounting it much more than they were already discounting them.
The manager told me that they don't sell many 8's in this area and that is why they are willing to do the S-Plan pricing.
You can also tell them that I sent you (Tom Adams). Maybe they'll appreciate it and give me a free oil change or something...
Good luck!

A dealer in the Sacramento,CA area that had many RX-8s on their lot (as of this post) that will honor the S-Plan pricing is Autowest Mazda - http://autonation.com/dealers/autowest/autowest-mazda/. Ask for Fred the "English" manager. He can confirm the pricing and that the vehicle is still in stock over the phone before you even come down.
I purchased my car last week. I viewed their inventory online and called them and asked for the S-plan pricing on a Winning Blue RX-8. They had no problems with offerring S-plan pricing. The deal was the smoothest I have ever done.

almost all the dealers I talked to offered the s-plan.
Tustin, Cerritos, Huntington Beach, Anaheim, Kott,, and Irvine
I ended up getting mine at Browning (Cerritos) for a couple hundred under S-plan pricing on the GT package
hope it helps

How can someone take advantage of the S plan? Do you have to have a relative work at Ford or are these dealers giving the discount without any paperwork? I have freinds that work at a ford plant in Louisville, I could probably use their #, is that how it works I wonder.
What would a sticker of 35,400 be discounted do you think?

No I negotiated to this price. I remember seeing a 3K off of MSRP one but that was for a Yellow GT with NAV. I am not too sure if they had more. I do know they had 2 used ones there. a black and a red 6spd.. Hope that helps, sorry I couldn't be of more help.
Sea Ray, if you or a family member are either a Ford/mazda employee or a member of a Ford Partner, you can take part in the S-plan. To clarify a ford partner can be a company that made Ford auto parts or it can be a professional organization. I participated through my employer who used to make parts for Ford.
Finally, I am not too sure about using a friends pin as the pin is also linked to your name. also I have attached a pdf file of all th
