Caveat Emptor
Let the buyer beware. If you plan on buying a new RX-8 with VINS between JM1FE17**40100001 - 40135536. Make sure you check for the stickers verifying the work has been done PRIOR to leaving the dealrship. One on the drivers "A" pillar and one under the hood at the latch. See Mazda Service BUlletin no. 01-022/04.
Today, I went out looking at RX-8's on dealer lots. ALL the cars that I checked did not have the calibration stickers on them. When I asked the salesmen about them I got the blank look. They are clueless what I am talking about. SO my guess is the dealers are not doing the work until people bring their cars back for the first maintenance.
So if you want to experience no starts, bad gas mileage, flooding, lack of acceleration, knocking, and engine fault lights from your new $30K plus car, PLEASE be a NICE buyer (sheep), take it up the a$$ and dont press the poor misunderstood salesmen about re-flashing your car.
You really dont want to make it hard on them, you know, its SO hard to sell a car. Any unnecessary questions would just force them to get answers which is really not what they are equipped to do. They are just great at spitting out some crap and you are supposed to swallow it, and nod your head in the affirmative.
Gimme a break.
Anyone who makes the buyer out to be the bad guy because they ask questions is an idiot.
