$500 over invoice? For an 05 I assume. For an 04, that's not really such a good deal.

Car broker is an interesting idea

I have a friend who knows a car broker... have been holding off calling him because I can't see what the point of spending $500 (I assume) to save $100. It would definately save me a lot of time and hassle; I'm just wondering if it is worth it.

I think that I should pay $500 over invoice for the '05 to have it RIGHT NOW. How much do you think the car broker's service is worth?

read the whole thread, dont contact a dealer directly. do everything by email. the worst thing that could happen is a waste of computer time. a car broker is making money you are wasting.

start at cars.com or edmunds.com and request a quote.

Buying a 2005 in the last quarter of 2004 is not very wise, most sales departments will not be flexible and they will be aggressive on there pricing. As many mentioned here, look at getting a 2004 there is really no difference plus your going to get a great price as dealers are desparate to get them off the lot. I bought mine at the end of the second quarter, the dealer had a lot of 8s on the lot and they had the one I really wanted with all the factory options. I paid a little bit more than I wanted but was able to get a good deal as the dealer was in a position that it was last day of the month and last day of the quarter.

Talking The end of the story

Well, to make a long story short, I got the car yesterday.

Bought my '05 at a small premium over invoice, no sales fee. Went back to the original dealer that got me mad, but they had the car I wanted and I wasn't going to "cut off my nose to spite my face." Transaction took about 2 hours. No fuss no muss.

The kicker is that the car I bought was the same '05 that I put on the original 50 miles on. In 2 weeks, nobody else had drove it. I think that speaks volumes about the real demand for the car.

'Shame that people don't recognize value, but I guess all of you here do. Persevere. For the nitty gritty details, refer to the "central florida" thread.
