Custom Dealer Plates
When you pay your dealer the $96.00 fee or whatever it is, for plates, is it ture he can't give you custom plates? Or do you have to first check with DMV to see if that plates taken and then come back to the dealer with permission to order that name?

Being a jersey boy for 26 yrs, I know this answer. tell him you don't want him to do any of the registration, tag, title crap. You do not want to pay for it. He has an option to do it for you the way you want - Vanity plates/personalized whatever, or you will do it right yourself and GIMME MY $ BACK.
This had worked for me 4 times in jersey.
Now I live in the south, GA and Fl are very liberal and cool, you definately do NOT have to pay for any processing fees and do it all yourself easily. Get the perfect Tag/Plate everything. Or people tell the dealer he has to do the whole thing -- they have to actually provide you with the reciept from the DMV.
Cool huh
