Question Dealer Incentives?

Anyone know of any hidden factory-to-dealer incentives aside from the consumer $500 graduate rebate?

There are none. I checked yesterday. No customer incentives, no dealer incentives.

Edmonds

According to Edmonds, Mazda (some dealers) offers a $500 incentive until 1-1-04. Although Mazda's site does not state this.
Is the $500, the AMEX credit people are talking about? Is the AMEX $500 incentive because of the hp statements?

The $500 from AE was ONLY for those who ordered or bought the car before August 24. That's over. The $500 you're seeing on Edmunds is "Available only to graduate students currently enrolled in a Masters or Doctorate program or students that have recently graduated with a Bachelor's, 4-year Nursing Degree, Doctorate and Masters degree." That is on all Mazda vehicles. Most car manufacturers have something like that in place, for eduction or the military.

As I said before, there are NO specific rebates/incentives of any kind for the RX-8. Going by the trend set by the 350Z, it'll be a long time before there are any. Even though you can get used Zs now, there are still no incentives, dealer or customer, available. I'd guess it'll the same with the 8.

I got 2600 off mine. I paided 25300 for a winning blue with auto and the apperance package with the 6 disk cd changer.
They said the owner of the dealership wants to be the largest volume dealer in new jersey and I bought the last day of the month.

That's a negotiated price, not a rebate or dealer incentive.

Yeah, I guess there's something to be said for volume sales. My wife does fall into the graduate rebate category, but as is often the case dealers will rarely (if ever) mention any factory-to-dealer incentives since it's money in their pockets.

Thanks Joker.

Funny, I purchased a 87 MR2, 91MR2 and a 92 Miata from them many years ago.

Thanks

I'd be embarassed to post new pictures right now as the poor thing is filthy. I don't have access to a hose and water at my apartment, and I'm afraid to take it to the local carwash. Oh well- at least the water still beads off it nicely!

silvermk2supra:
I just realized my posts were a little abrupt. Sorry about that, I wasn't trying to be abrasive! I get in a hurry sometimes and don't pay attention to how I'm writing things!

And you're right, $500 is $500, and from the reports on here, you should be able to negotiate a very decent price on one if you look carefully!

Elara,

No offense taken at all. We're all 8 borhters (sisters) here anyway.
Email, text messaging, etc. is always difficult to read into sometimes and can be interpreted differently.
Didn't want to steer off track on this thread but, I wanted to let you know.

Thanks
Al

I don't know about general dealer incentives, but I just recieved an email from Lincoln-Mercury & Mazda of Olympia offering 5% over invoice for the remainder of the year.

Here is the email:

Hi,

I'm Gen Gamboa the Internet Manager at Lincoln-Mercury & Mazda of Olympia.
I am happy to announce a new program for future RX8 owners.
Between now and December 1st 2003, all in-stock RX8's will be sold for only 5% over the invoice price. If I do not have the one in stock your looking for I'll do my best to find one closest to what your looking for. There will be a fee of $100.00 for all RX8's that need to be located. I currently have 10 RX8's in the dealership ready for immediate delivery, with more coming in this month.
Most Mazda dealerships are charging sticker price or over for these cars. Edmunds.com's TMV (true market value) price is the MSRP.
Again, this offer is only valid for this month. Only Internet customers whose Purchase Order is written by me are eligible for this promotion.
I work on an appointment basis only.
Please contact me via e-mail or toll free at 888-494-3355 to set an appointment.

Thanks,

Gen Gamboa

This may help anyone that may be deciding to purchase but felt uncomfortable with MSRP.

5% over invoice is not bad, but still to much for me ... and by next year (alittle over a month from now) the deals will be even beter - that's one of the reasons I'm waiting until 2005 (then I hope to be able to get mine at around $100 - 250 over invoice - I'll even try for less!)

Magnesium,

Sounds like a guy who's trying to move some cars. If he's willing to part with it at that much from the start, chances are you can get him to go better. Many Fleet/Internet Directors are willing to go $500 over invoice or better simply to move volume (mine offered $500 over). Troll around - you might be surprised.

Additionally - you ought not have to pay for locator services. If they want to sell you a car badly enough, then they'll find it for you. Sounds like an easy $100 in his pocket to me.

Hope I'm not reviving an old thread that needs to die, but I spoke with a dealer this Friday (Sep 10th) that said he was getting about $1000 dealer cash from the manufacturer on a Nordic Green M/T w/GT.

Cheers
