Dealers (fubar, buda et al)...any official mazda word on delayed deliveries?
this question is posed to those members that work for dealerships/mazda corporate.
has there been any formal or informal announcement by mazda corporate regarding the delay in delivery of pre-ordered cars? a simple yes or no would suffice (if you're unable to legally give details)...but a detailed explanation would be appreciated by all that are in the same boat as i am.
thanks.
(PLEASE KEEP THIS THREAD CLEAN OF ANY SPECULATION FROM NON-MAZDA EMPLOYESS...there are plenty of other active threads going in which to do so.)

Well, official word from Mazda? Are you kidding? As far as I can tell, from talking to my friends at other dealers, is that you all know as much about the delivery status as the dealers do. Which means not much. This morning I got my first presold car in, which was Javahut's, and his car was released to the transport company last week. Eccles car was released at the same time and still have not seen it. Transport driver said he thought there was another truck loading that was heading this way later today. Hope Hope Hope!!! I think the transport companies are just overloaded with cars to deliver. Besides the RX8, we're going through buildout for all the other models so there are lots of cars sitting at the ports that have to get to the dealers. For example, the Protege replacement won't be here until probably January, so we had to order enough the last couple of months to get us till then. In our case that was about 300 Protege's. Still no excuse, but the only one I can come up with that we all haven't already heard.

We have only seen 2 truck come in so far althouth the 3rd and 4th are supposively on there way. It seems that they come in by sets of 3. Dont know if this is a transport issue thing, logistical or just a coincidence. All trucks from the Dallas/Midlothian maybe having logistical issues due to the Hurricane in the gulf earlier. Remember when there are delays, its not just not Mazda, its every other manafacturer that uses Midlothian as a distribution center. Otherwise were in the dark with you.
