That's just silly. You don't pay for flashes.

Are homosexual dealers the only ones charging for the M flashes? I don't get the "gay" reference in this post's title...

By law they can't charge you for any maintenance related actions for the duration of the mfgr's warranty. Unless they can prove that the failure was caused by a non OEM part.

And since the flash is covered under This recall notice then he has no grounds to charge you!

Which dealer are you talking about?

I think he's only saying that to see if you will pay and when you do, he pockets the money.

Just had my car flashed this morning, told them It was not starting very easily, its a TSB and definitely the cost is beared by Mazda, thats just a pure joke that this guy wants to charge you, I would have asked for the Service Manager and if that person is still an idiot have them call Mazda or better yet have them look it up they should have this as a TSB, I hate stupid dealers, thank goodness mine is descent they at least knew what I was talking about.

YA ... i know that is why i am soo pissed.. IT is rosenthal mazda...on route 7.. I was talking to the service manager "steve Miller." He kept asking me why.. i wanted to get it flashed.. I was like the rx8 has many problems with the gas miles.. and i heard that many people who got there cars flashed to M had better miles. Then he was like he can do it but it will cost you.. I was like omg.. what the hell is this... That dude is justa bad service manager.. because i saw him talking to this lady before me and the lady wanted to sue him.. I swear thank god i didn't buy my 8 from there.. i bought mine from browns fairfax soo that is where i am going to take my 8. rosenthal is just closer to my house.. I think he saw that i was a teen and he wanted to take advantage of me.. So what should i say any answers for me?

Unhappy

I bought my Rx-8 from the dealership on route 7. Have your father call and ask to speak to the dealership manager. He is more likely to get satisfaction then you will, due to your age. It's not right, but that is life
