Well, nhuhta, it's difficult to figure out if there is a method to production date/VIN#/Engine # if you compare yours and mine. Although my build date is the day before yours, my VIN# is higher and engine number much higher.

Do you have you any substantiated updated status on your RX8?

I'm not able to get any reliable information on the status of the East Coast boat.

My dealer was told by his GM my car was at the Jersey Port last week. I asked him Monday if he had checked the weekly report. No. So we go to the file and find that all the people he told their cars were on land were in fact still in transit on water. He was almost as disappointed as us. They were starting to plan a big 4th of July party for the RX-8s thinking they would be there by then.

Posted by Budaman was a June 30 in JAX and Jul 2 in JERSEY for docking dates. Also included number of cars per port. That is in line with the May 30/31 departure of the two ships from Japan-- 30 days from Japan to East Coast. I believe Bud said that ship information came from his District Manager, which is about as reliable as it gets unless Mazda North America posts to the forum. :D Still haven't got the name of the ship but the JAX schedule might give us that when it shows June 30 arrivals.

The (what I believe are false) reports that cars arrived in the East last week came from the weekly conference call with all GMs on June 17th. During the call they were told "the first RX-8s just arrived in port". Most of them apparently thought that meant "THEIR" port, wherever it was. But the timing of the call the only ship docking would be at Port H in CA.

Trekn - your's must have been right behind mine on the assembly line - 1129 VIN ; engine 361688; built 5/23. Both coming to the greater DC metro area. Coincidence or some sort of regional build planning? Who knows...
