Factory Options vs Accessories

I've read all the threads about the loss of power, etc. But I'm still interested in buying a RX-8 - sorry, but loss of 9 (or 20 what ever tent you in) HP isn't a reason not to buy this car. Like most wanting that I've spoken to; I've been playing with the idea of the 350Z vs the 8... if I wanted the HP, I would go the Z route. If I want the totally unadulterated fun of the drive - hands down the 7! ...errr, I mean 8 :D

Anyway, sorry for the side track... I'm basically wanting the 8 that's showed in the 2004 Mazda RX-8 Accessories pamphlet. I'm wanting a GT M/T with Appearance Package, Moonroof wind deflector with the Rear Wing. Now, what comes with this setup?

I'm particularly interested in the 18" Polished Aluminum Wheels, the Aluminum Air Vent bezels, Aluminum Door Sill Trim Plates, Exhaust Finishers, Fog Lights (Blue-Tint Coating), Night Lights (Driver/Passenger) and the Rear Door Trim Protectors. I've asked the dealer near me and they were unable to answer my questions.

Thank you in advance for your help!:

None of the accessories you listed come with the GT or Appearance Package -- you will have to order all of them as add-ons (though I think they can all be installed at port).

I believe it's cheaper in the long run to order the accessories from places like MazdaTrix or Trussville and have them installed or do the work yourself. I'm no Bob Vila, but I can handle a couple of screws. I'll leave the drilling to the pros, but labor included should save me a pocket full of change over port installation.

Zaphod, that's a good point. Guess, I can just order the car, and wait to see what's on it and what isn't and then order it and put them in myself.

Thanks for the info jtimbck2!

anything installed at port is installed free of any labor charges just as if it came from the factory. and at least the port installers are trained by factory reps, which cannot be said about most of the guys doing the work at the dealers.

I'm just saying that I can probably order the accessories myself and pay labor to have the hard stuff installed and still beat the price of factory/port installed accessories. The only thing I don't want to tackle myself are the things that require drilling into the body.
