False Advertisement?

Hey all,

I'm new to the forum. After reading around I just learned about Mazda's restating the RX8's horsepower...after I had purchased the vehicle. I bought the Vehicle August 30th. My window sticker says the vehicle has 247 HP...even though Mazda is saying it is really 238 HP. Should I contact my dealer about this for some form of reimbursement? When was the deadline to be elgible for Mazda's buyback or rebate? Thanks for the help guys!

And for the record, I would not sell my car back, but I could use the rebate. I love the car and its performance. I would just like the same treatment everyone else is receiving.

4 days

that is my luck...4 days off! I am still wondering if I should contact my dealership anyways...the window sticker falsely advertised the car as 247 HP, and I bought it thinking it was 247 HP. The performance is still the same, and I am still pleased with the performance. I just want some reimbursement.

I think you have a bone to pick with your dealer "if they" told you it had 247. I think you do have a false advertising case if it stated as such on the Monroney Sticker.

after the 26th the dealers were supposed to have new buyers sign an affidavit saying they had explained to the buyer the HP restatement and the buyer would not sue Mazda over it, or some such legalspeak. if you did not sign this paper during the closing of the sale of your car, then you have an excellent case and should be able to get the $500 and free maitenance. if after speaking with the dealer and mazda they seem reluctant to give it to you, have a lawyer freind write them a letter on some company letterhead telling them what you want. do you still have the window sticker?

didn't sign anything like that

I didn't sign anything like that. And yes, I still have the window sticker. The window sticker + this forum is what clued me in to the whole buyback thing.... I was bored and reading through my manual again (lame i know =P) and I read the window sticker. It says 247 HP.
