nope, get a used one, its cheaper and the same thing. Even though you make not like the word "used" its always better in the end, gives you extra money to pay for gas. Shop around for one thats in good condition, inside and out, 04 and 05's usually go around 17k-20k

the first offer they gave me was 29000 and told them that puente hills is advertising for 5K off msrp. he immediatly matched that and wont budge now. they said they would call around 12-1 today. what should i say to lower the price other than the 08 models are around the corner? thanks for the help.

so i just got back from the dealer. the lowest the would got is $26000 for this car. He dropped $6700 off the msrp price. What do you guys think. i was hoping for $25000 because that is what my limit was set at, but i don't want to pass up a good deal. But i don't want to buy a car that you guys think i could get for a lower price. so what do you guys think? thanks for all you help

No matter what

No matter what price you say you got, there is always gonna be somoene who will tell you you are getting ripped off, you gotta take some of that with a grain of salt. Ultimately, you need to decide for yourself what the car is worth to you, you know what the MSRP window price was, you know what it's at now.
You are also buying new as opposed to used so you know there is additional cost over a used one, and that you are gonna eat that in depreciation, but there is a reason, and you prefer the idea of a new over a used car. IMO there's nothign wrong with that, I feel the same way, that virginal period with the car, from 0 about 30,000 miles is very important to me.
For reference though, take a look at what the used 2005 GT's are going for in the for sale section, see if you can find any in your local paper, and the "what was your price section", and again, know that a lot of people have probably fudged their prices a little. There seem to be plenty around that sold in the $19k to 20K range for a well maintained lower mileage car (40,000 or less). I think if you got them down into the $26,000 range on a GT that was 31+K on the, car you haven't done too bad, there may be a little wiggle room, but you probably aren't going to get a hell of a lot more off them. I think people would have a hard time saying you got reamed at that price, a few will, but with little real evidence to back it up.
Now's the time to make the hard decision, is it worth it to you? If not, tell that salesman to stick it, until he hits the price that your conscience agrees is fair, if it is, and if you really want the car, then let the opinions of others be damned.
That's my 2 cents, I'm sure some would disagree heartily

thats a good deal in my book.
but try to get them to throw in the spare tire and mounting hardware. tell them, if you put it in, you'll sign today. :D
i paid 20k for my velocity red 05 grand touring. with dual tone black and leather interior. it had 19.5k miles. it still smelled new. however, with just 2500 miles with me. it doesnt. heh, i guess thats what happens when a car goes from a weekend to a daily driver.
if you have the money, i'd jump on the deal.

you think prices will go down once the 08s hit the dealers?
also - if you look at say a touring model or a grand touring...with NO accessories.. vs the same car that has the body kit, wing, and other add on accessories... do you think that you can get them to budge more off MSRP on the car iwth add ons? those must get marked up a ton...
for example...
say you look at a Grand Touring with no options that has an MSRP around $31k.
VS.
a touring model but add appearance package, wing, rotary accent package... with an MSRP about the same... $31k.
will they be more wililng to deal on one vs the other? is the dealers true cost more or less on the options vs the car itself? does anyone know?
i just wonder if you assume they can come off of MSRP a certain amount... is that b/c they are getting hold back from Mazda, cash incentives from Mazda, both?
i'd rather get a toruing model wtih the body kit and spoiler instead of a GT with none of it...
also...i've looked at some used ones..and the leather seems to wear poorly on some..lots of wrinkles/marks/etc..whereas some ofhte cloth cars seem to look better with age..any of you have a preference over cloth vs. leathe for long term ?
