Help!
Hi RX-8 experts, i've been looking into the RX-8 for a couple of months now and have fallen in love with it, my eyes open wide every time I see one on the road. The problem is im not too sure about its practicality, especially in my situation. I live outside of Boston and commute everyday to work, normally it takes 30 minutes to get there (about 25 miles), but unfortunately Boston traffic is not very consistent. Anyways, my question is would it be practical for me to drive an Rx 8 everyday to work? I would like to purchase a used one, between $22-$24 k, but I am afraid I would put too much strain on it putting 350-400 miles a week. And with the gas prices these days, it would cost around $50 a week in gas. How often do you guys drive your RX 8s, and how much do you spend a week on gas? Is this car suited for an everyday drive? Finally, how would this car handle in the winter because New England winters can be brutal. Anyways, I just need some guidance so that I don't make a stupid decision. Thanks for your help!

I normaly drive mine to work, mon-fri and on the weekends. I put about 200-250 miles a week on it, I now have right around 10100 miles on the car, bought it 7 months ago, 3500 of that was due to a road trip soon after i got the car.
I usualy fill up every sunday night and with prices around $2.50/gal I spend about 35-40 a tank and get about 250-280 miles bettween fill-ups almost all city miles.
I can tell you when I drove that 3500, various gas prices (before the prices took a major jump after the hurricanes) It was $225.00 for enough gas to go 3500 miles round trip, that works out to about 15 miles per dollar.
Its a great car to drive day to day, mine is manual, and I do about 100 miles of stop/go traffic a week, 100 miles of normal city stoplight 35-55 mph, 25-40 miles of highway a week and the rest is a mix of all of the above, short trips around the block, idle around parking lots, ect.
