Help, Dealer screwed up my order, what should i do?

hey,

so my Philly dealer messed up option packages, got the GT when I ordered the touring. he offered 600 off the GT price, so i'd be paying 600 more. I really don't want the extra weight of the GT, the extra features are useless to me, and the extra price is even more useless to me.

I've got several questions for you all...

1) I ordered way back in june, and opted for 500/free scheduled maintenance. He says he may be able to find me a touring.. but if it isn't made in the right build dates, am i screwed out of the Mazda offer?

2) Regarding the first question, who should I call at Mazda to ask about this?

3) I bought insurance the day before i was to go get the car.... normally does the policy go into effect when i buy the car or when i buy the insurance? I'm a youngish male not having had a policy for a long time so this is a rather large cost for me

4) anybody know any good dealers offering sub msrp in the philly area?

okay, your dealer is splitting the price difference with you on the GT package. That's not bad. leather, power seat and other things. The weight difference shouldn't be that great. I wish I had the same deal. My order was not ordered and I ended up with a totally different car but no special deals.

as far as the weight concern go i don't think gt adds too much weight over touring. the biggest thing is probably the moonroof which is in touring anyway. paying 600 more for gt isn't that bad of a deal. as far as the offer, don't you have to have ordered the car before their cutoff date to qualify? if you buy another now that's not what you originally ordered before their cutoff date they might not honor it

Demand the GT for the touring price. If that doesn't work, demand a touring for $500 less than you agreed to compensate you for the lost rebate card.

Anything less and you are being screwed by the dealer.

absolutely tags60! the dealer is playing games. if you ordered the car before the cutoff it doesn't matter when you take delivery you still get the free maitainence and $500. have them find the car you ordered and that you want. don't let them pawn off a mistake on you and make you pay for it. i'm sure they can find one at another dealer or at port for you. however if you decide to go ahead and get the gt at least you'll have heated side mirrors for when the ice comes down in philly @march
