help me decide what I should offer on this rx8 my dealer has...
alright so my local dealer has an 04 sunlight silver rx8 - 6spd, touring pkg, 6cd, spoiler, navigation. Sticker price is $32,755. Invoice is right around $29,994.
This rx8 has a build date of 8/03 and has ~700 miles on it (i know b/c I checked it out by some punk kid who works there). I have no idea if any of the service bulletins have been done on it (I should hope so). As it stands, I know there is either a choice of 3.9% APR or $1500 rebate. How should I go about trying to get the lowest price possible on this car? In my eyes, it's been on their lot forever, has alot of miles for being untitled, and would assume they can't wait to sell it. So i would love to be able to get well under invoice and also let them apply the $1500 rebate (unless the 3.9% would help me instead). In reality, how low do you think I can get them on this?

My dealer is offering 5300 below MSRP on all 04 models and I've seen other members get that same offer. With such high mileage (~700) for a new car, I'd suggest you offer even less.
And have then do any needed TSB's prior to delivery.

This may or may not help you. I just bought an '05 here in Florida. The dealer had sticker price set at $32,699 it has the full grand touring pkg. and appearence pkg as well as a special gold pkg (which the dealer wanted an additional $500 bucks for). It has a build date of 7/04 with only 16 miles on it when I bought it. Even though my Mazda dealer didn't offer any rebates(because it's an '05) I was able to walk OUT THE DOOR PAYING $30,095. If I had paid sticker plus extras(tax, title etc.) probably would have paid closer to $35,000. I think you can get a much better deal than that. Not boasting (I'm sure someone will slam me about it) but I paid cash for mine. They really really tried to get me to lease but NO WAY! I figured that it was that much more money I'd save. Good luck with the dealer, hope things go your way. Let us know! :D

If your credit's good, you can get close to 3.9% from e-loan or Capitol One (looks like 4.55% on 48 mo, <4% on a 36mo). Then deal, take the rebate and rice out the car with the money you saved! j/k on the last.

OK, it's not new then...right? Or, kinda sorta new but has been driven 700 miles? If so, I would not pay ANYTHING close the that price. I've seen much better deals out there. Am I crazy, but I would offer him $26,000 no more...maybe I'm cheap, but I've seen them go for about that price. No need to rush...gee's, look who is talking...LOL

I bought an '04 Silver 6MT, Touring, Nav, Spoiler, Tinted Windows about 2 months ago with 80 miles - for 27.5K
That did not include any rebates - sounds like you should be able to do better than 26K...
good luck!!!
