How much for a demo 04 velocity red 6 speed?
Guys, help me out here...
What do you think is a reasonable price for a Velocity Red 6 speed RX8 with the GT package? It is an 04 dealer demo with 6K+ miles. The dealer tells me that I will get 4 years/41K miles warranty. The date of manufacture is 06/03. He is asking for 24.5K.
Thanks in advance.

FYI - I got my 04 V-Red, MT, GT, Rotary Accent, Spoiler, Spare with 600 mi in April for 23.3K. Mazda was still giving the dealer a $7K rebate at the time - don't know if that still applies. :D

Once I decided to get the new 05 8 I posted a list of all the new 04 left overs I knew about here in the forum. You can get a new 04 GT w/NAV for $26k with basically no miles on it. A loaded GT w/o Nav and 500-600 miles is about $25k.
There is currently a $1,000 MAC financing rebate, so a GT would cost you about $28,300 (invoice - $1,000) or $27,300 if you do the 24 month lease. You may can negotiate a few hundred less than this - but it is still a good bit higher than a new 04 or a "used" car. Also you are at the mercy of the MAC rate, which is 2.7% for the lease and "who knows how high" for the financing. You could always finance w/MAC to get the $1k then refinance with your bank/credit union.

Get the VIN and punch in in on www.carfax.com - if it comes up 0 records then it has not been titled, if it has records it could be recall work, etc and you will need someone with an account to get the detail.

Thanks for all the info. I am in So Cal, will go to the Long Beach guys and see if they will do 6K below MSRP on 05s. Will keep my fingers crossed until then.

The dealer agreed to sell the car for $23K. 04 Velocity Red Mica 6 speed GT with 6K miles. It has the rotary accent package and fog lights. He said there is a recall and they are waiting for the part. What do you guys think? Reasonable price?

See my post above. I got my '04 with a spoiler and spare tire, and with 1/10th the mileage as a new car (full warranty) for $23.3K. It seems you should still have some "wiggle room".

k this may sound sort of stupid but I was looking at the prices you guys were getting, and I went to a currency calculatio site. Calculating a 23k price equals about 29k CAD. So I go on a Canadian car sales website, and the Rx-8 is listed at about 37k for an used 04. Am I doing something wrong or is US just cheaper...
