How much did you pay for your recently purchased RX8 (from Mazda dealers)?

How much did you pay for your recently purchased RX8?
I'm curious about the price you got them for. Doesn't matter if you car is a demo car, 04-08, 09+ etc etc. As long as you purchased it recently.
List location, price, year, package and mileage. Also include where you brought it from (Mazda dealer, other dealers, private, etc) and when you brought the RX8
This should give us a good idea on what the value of the RX8 is as time goes on.

We have waited quite a while for the 2009 to come in (should be at the end of this month or next month). We're not going to purchase the new 2009 RX8 but we're interested in the first model (2004-2008).
Our idea is to wait until the 2009 to come out so the dealers will let the left overs go for dirt cheap. I'm pretty sure now they should be letting them go to make space for the revised 2009 RX8. If you brought your RX8 from the dealers recently, I'm curious about the price you got them for. Sounds like a reasonable deal. Note that rebates MAY be regional, and that they may differ in your state. Also note that since there is less then $3k in markup on base models(including holdback) that ther is likely to be overpriced add-ons on such vehicles if any are in stock.
The best way to find a good deal in your location would be to go on edmunds.com, fill out a price quote request and have 4-5 internet salespeopel fight for the best deal.

Thats how I got mine. I got a 2007 Touring last December for $25k. Probably could have gotten a few bucks off that but I didn't bother. Looking back on it, maybe I should have picked up the base model that I got quoted $21k for instead. $4,000 for a sunroof hmmmmm.....

Don't forget traction control I don't think that comes on the base either.

A week ago I purchased a new (54 miles) 2008 Brilliant Black RX-8 Grand Touring for $24,999 (sticker was close to $32K). They were aggressive on the price because it was month-end quota time, and of course the 8s' gas mileage isn't great (but I don't care since I can afford the gas). :D If you're in the San Francisco Bay Area you should purchase from the same dealer I did (see pics of the car in the Brilliant Black photo forum - they still have the dealer advertising plates).

I know a few people in the car business, and that's not necessarily the best time to buy. You want to time yourself with thier financial reports. Dealers sell the most cars on the weekend and are prepared to go lower on the weekend than the weekday. Dealers also want to get rid of cars for the quarterly report. So the best time to buy a car is on the last weekend in the last month of the quarter. Since it's June, the next 2 weekends are great times to buy low.

wow. 12500! i know it's an 04, but still, that's CHEAP!
great dea!! mileage is not too bad for an 04 either!!
the fact that it was a honda/volvo lot probably helped. a car dealer friend once told me that you get the best deals on trades to dealers that do NOT sell THAT car. the volvo/honda guys took that in trade, and just want to dump it. they made some money on the sale of whatever else they sold that guy, and now the RX8 was to them, a liability..and if it sits long enough, they'll just dump it at what they paid (the low trade screw over price the paid) and you basically get it dirt cheap.
nice find.

Best deal we've seen on a brand new, older model year RX-8 from a Mazda dealer was $17,500 for a 2007 MT Sport (without any options) in Feb 2008 was $17,500. But that deal was contingent upon using Ford financing at 6.9%.
BTW, I got my used (9,800 miles) 2006 MT Sport with Performance Package in March of 2008 from a Nissan dealer for $17,525. Could have done better if I wasn't so picky about Phantom Blue and exactly this option package and nothing else.

I bought my '06 MT touring w/appearance package in February. I paid $19,500. The car had around 3,000 miles on it and I bought it from a Cadillac dealership. It probably helped that there was about two inches of snow on the ground when I went to test drive it.
