Insurance and budget Qs
Hey guys, Surreal here from OK.
I currently have a self-imposed budget of around 10 grand. I have a new job, and good money to go around compared to previous positions.
My trouble is..
I am currently 19. I was in an at-fault accident last year in my old Maxima due to a sleepless night. I am trying to gather as much information or reccomendations as I can on what I should do insurance wise to keep rates practical. I wont be paying the same amount on car insurance as I will rent (thats just silly!) and paying the same amount for insurance as I would for a car payment seems absurd (though realistic..) as well.
Thoughts? I work a full-time job so student discounts and all arent a possibility.
Also, anything in foresight to check out as far as my budget goes? I understand I may be lucky to grab a decent 05 for this price. I think as long as I check for the engine replacements Im OK?
Good to be here, and thanks ahead of time for any input!

One thing you want to look at is security, being only 19 you want to look at all of your budget and how bad you will be hurting if you do not have income for say 1 month or 2 in a just in case scenario. You also want to make sure that you are not completely taking your budget to the limit because you want to buy a sports car, always have room for the what if factor.
also take into fact that the 8 gets less mpgs then your previous maxima, causing more monthly cost as well.
That being said it is probably best advice to get as many quotes as possible on the car and from there take a complete monthly budget spreadsheet and calculate everything, from food, pet, rent whatever and make sure you calculate accurately and on the high side. If all proves well then get the 8 and goodluck

I am OK money wise right now. Ill have some more (computer) certs soon and money will soon pick up.
I actually drive a cougar at the moment, and gets about 17mpg city as well. So that wont change.
