Hey guys/gals,

I am a new member,and have been lurking a little while.I have wanted a RX-8 since I saw it at the NY auto show back in 01.But due to us having a child 2 years ago money is a bit tighter than it was in the past.But I am really jonesing for one bad now.I test drove one at rev-it-up a few months ago,and loved it on the 30 second lap.The other day I took one for a real test drive,and loved it even more.I forgot about 6th gear though until after I got off the highway.I am so used to 5 speeds.The thing is the local dealer is having a hard time selling the 5-6 models they have left,so I was thinking they would be happy to just get rid of one with out making a killing on it.My guesses were true when we started talking price,and I whipped out the invoice printout I got on Edmunds.They quoted me a price of $28500 on a 04 titanium grey(my favorite color next to the white I have seen) 6 speed touring model with the spoiler,and spare tire kit(I don't like the spare tire kit).I really like the moonroof with the touring package but I am really just looking for a 6 speed sport model or a base 6 speed.They had me interested though because the price they quoted was about in the middle of invoice and edmunds TMV price.The salesman came up witha figure on payments.I wasn't interested in that I wanted the lowest purchase price of the car.I can get financing on my own,and I can figure out what my payments will be.I walked away when I realized $575 a month was way out of my price range.Since that day the salesman has been calling me with offers of $2500 rebate on a lease.I have never leased a car before(mostly due to driving too many miles in the past),but thought I would give it a look seeing they are giving me a pretty good rebate,and the fact I have a new job at my company that has a company van.My question to you guys is would this be a smart car to lease?Or is it too much fun to not drive it all the time?Also I have since contacted another dealer who has a TG 6 speed sport.They told me they sell on the internet for $100 over dealer invoice.Which would be $26311.After the lease deal $23811.Now I have not heard back from them on whether or not that is a good price for them,but that is the math after the rebate.Now I have no idea what the residual would be or my money factor but the lease price may be a good deal.Can I set the mileage limit per year or do they?Do I set the term or do they?Sorry to be long winded.Thanks in advance.
