Lookin at an 8
Hello all, my name is Steffen (21)...I am definitely not new to forums, but I am new to RX8's and Mazdas. I have looked on here before in the FAQ sections about the 8's and the maintenance that has to be done to them along with the upkeep.
My wife and I are in the market for a vehicle and found an RX8 about an hour from our house at a dealer lot. We haven't looked at it (did an online approval through them to see if what we would need to do as no not waste gas driving down there). The guy finally called me back about 3 hours later and said we would need some cash down...we actually managed to gather that in about 10 minutes after talking to parents about xmas money, lol. Just wanted to post the link to the car here and see what ya'll said.

Also, how would I tell what package it is? I think it may be the GT because of the heated seats but I couldn't find any info online distinguishing the different packages between the 2.
Thanks for the input and info...glad to be here!

It has a sunroof and spoiler so it is a GT. It's not priced too bad, but be wary of the usual problems. I'd really recommend a LONG test drive. Get the motor nice and hot and see if it has any problems.
Cash down is almost always pure profit. Good luck.

We we took it for a test drive today, 20-30 minute test drive. Everything looked great and felt great. I found out at one time that the car had an amp and sub because I stumbled upon the wiring for it. There was another guy interested but they said the guys credit was so jacked that it wasn't happening. So because of that we can take a little time to get the money in order for it.

Yeah that seems like a good deal. Just to make sure, see if you can get the maintenance history of the car. Also, you may want to take it to a mazda dealership and get the compression tested. it still has fairly low mileage, so it's not too important. But, it is good for piece of mind.
Good luck!!

make sure you tell them what you want in the deal before its to late like tires , brakes and a tune up make them pay for it because it ain't cheap. Be loose keep cool I work at a dealership and we sold about 3 rx8s that needed alot of work and there a bunch of stuff i took out of them for my own car haha
