The Driver's seat event has been going on for 3-4 weeks. it was last month's promotion thats supposed to end on March 2nd. Either the feedback is good or Sales is still horrible, thats why its still here.
I expect some even more "crazy" deals coming next month.
Im looking at a 08 RX8 (I still dont like the R3's look), lets see what kind of deal they have next month if its good, I am going to trade mine in for that.

Test drove an R3 today. The salesman of course was a complete moron and knew knothing about the car, but he actually showed me the sheet the salesmen get for current incentives on all vehicles. There was probably something on there I shouldn't have seen, which was a column for every Mazda vehicle and most of the boxes had $1500 written in them. It didn't register until I left, but could that number be the kickback to the dealer for every car sold? If thats the case, $1000 below invoice should be easily attainable for an R3.

After much agonizing about getting another 8 or going to the 370, I just like the 8 too much to give it up, so I have started to gather quotes from any dealer within 200 miles of me that had any R3s in stock.
1st quote that came back to me was 28,010 + TTL MSRP is 32,600. I was actually a little shocked it was that low. I'll wait for all other quotes to see how those compare.

What I find funny though is, if you ask about the R3, they tell you "oh yes, that's a very rare car, very rare, limited edition, only a small amount were made"

(I love the 8 as well, but honestly speaking, they're NOT selling well, so yea, u should be able to get a decent deal out of it.)

As of now, I might be willing to pay $27K, but I might wait a couple of months when the offers get even better because Im sure the economy will not improve at all. I actually want to go into a dealership and tell them there is no way you are selling that car anywhere near sticker. I know people are afraid of the rotary engine and know about the lack of power and **** poor MPG. Plus the fact that the 8 might have one of the smallest niche markets ever (for an affordable car). So there will be very few buyers for these. I think Im gonna do it when the offer is right. The 370s looks just dont do it for me so I dont think I can make the switch to nissan.

Trust me. Ive heard that one too. And they obvoiusly thought I was an uneducated buyer when they even went as far as saying it was the only one in the state and in turn expected me to pay near sticker.

I swear they had some better deal during Jan, it was something like 1K customer cash + 1K loyalty cash for mazda owners and 1.9% for 36 or 48 months or something.
they changed it in Feb, I was like , nawWWWWWWWWWWW
hehehe, After all the poor sales news going on ... Im fairly sure after this month. something even better will come out.

08 incentives look decent, but the 09 incentives are only mildly entertaining, if even... most ppl can negotiate down $500 and get 4.9% financing from their bank or credit union easily- considering that the federal funds rate is now, what, 0%?
mazda ain't going to move many 09 8's with those incentives...

Looks like Ill be able to get an r3 for less than I paid for my 04 GT. Got my '04 for 500 under invoice. Paid about 29k with a sticker around 32k. The first quote I got on an r3 amounts to about 1500 under invoice. With a little patience it could still get a lot better. NOBODY is buying these cars.
