my car is here (in DC area), who wants it

my rx-8 is here today, I got the call from Brown's Mazda in Fairfax. My '04 Sport Package, Black, wih Nav RX-8 is here and I'm about to go give it back to the dealership, unless I get a response that someone on this forum wants it . I'm not marking it up, I just want someone to have the chance to own it and I want my deposit back. I won't pick it up and pay taxes on it and sell to someone else that will need to pay taxes on it...

After reading your post I had to go it in person. But I didn't see your car....although they do have a silver automatic and a blue manual. Oh man the blue one gave me goosebumps. Whoever's car that is...man/woman you're very fortunate! Its amazing. I used to drive a 2001 325i with the SP and I really liked the way it looked, but that blue rx8 took my breath away. I saw the evolv, saw the rx8 at NY auto show, but its just different seeing it outside the show arena next to everyday cars. I just wish I wasn't going back to school, and not driving a freakin used Civic to save money for my MBA! Oh well...I graduate in 2006.

I preoderdered this thing back in Janurary and in that time I bought a car from the owner of PF Supercars (pfs.net). I bought his IS300 that makes 418 RWHP for a good price. It won't handle like the RX-8 but its fast and scary....

and my car should be in the garage getting all of the plastic taken off of the seats and stuff right now....

(so sad.... why can't I just own 2 $30k cars!?!!??, I should be going back to get MY MBA!))

Man the job market still sucks and there are a lot of jobless MBA's out there. My brother who just graduated from INSEAD in France is also without a job. Sucks... I just hope that by the time I graduate things will be better. Oh and the salaries and starting bonuses have gone down quite a bit too. um...where's Mazda U.S. HQ by the way? Maybe they'll hire me when I graduate in 2006, and I wonder if they have some sort of employee discount?!:p :D

My sister is Kristen Simmons, former Senior VP of MazdaUSA. She just leeft mazda to help Gateway get into the black. She got her MBA from northwestern and quickly became the automotive industries youngest VP-- In fact she's the one that wrote the whole 'zoom-zoom' thingy.

what happens to your deposit at brown's if you can't find someone to pass the car off to? you weren't worried about that when you decided to get the is300?

you gotta drive this IS to understand why the decision was made to possibly lose the deposit! I think I sold it to a guy though, I'm done...

I will will revisit this purchase when peter farrell comes out with a turbo kit for the rx-8.

Oh man that sucks. No wonder she went to Gateway....does she get discount on computers now? :D

Maybe by the time I graduate Mazda will start giving discounts...or maybe once I become a VP or something at Mazda, I can start this policy and be the first one to get the discount!

I'm sorry to hear Kristen left a couple months back and wish her the best of luck at Gateway. She did some great work putting back the "fast, fun and cool" into Mazda, with a real fire in her belly. Zoom-Zoom is her legacy. She will be sorely missed.

Mazda will give employee discounts, but not on a car that just came out. I think with the Tribute you couldn't get the S-Plan price for something like 6 months. I'm waiting for the RX-8 to get on the S-Plan so I can save some dinero. The company I work for has a deal with Ford, so all Ford products are available at a discount.

My sales manager (who wants an RX-8) says he will have to pay the same as the public until early next year (Jan or later). No discounts on new cars for staff.

i haven't even seen it yet :-(.

I go in tomorrow to sign over that black rx-8 to ryan (he works at peter farrell's supercars.) it won't be long before you see it get turbocharged and a new computer programmed into it.

I'll probably buy it back from him then....

I'll forward this thread to Kristen

i didn't mean to mislead, if peter wants an rx-8 i'm sure he could just ask for one, he's still got tremendous pull with mazda ( not just ford people, if you know what i mean?). i just meant my former rx-8 (which i plan to arrange visiting arrangemetns) will be receiving performance upgrades as soon as they come out since he works with peter!
