My New 07 Rx-8
Hey guys im new to the forum the names Roger...I just got my 8 today a couple hours ago. Its a 2007 6MT Galaxy Gray....but no GT pkg. This has been my dream car forver. Anyways the damn salesman was trying to get me to buy the Mazdaspeed 3. He convinced my parents but I ended up giving a sales pitch of my own. After about an hour I convinced them and got my 8. Out the door for $21,000....gotta love that price. Will start modding after I break the engine in....do any of you guys know when it is a good time to start modding?

Rule of thumb in our race shop is to get a couple thou on the motor using all RPM ranges increasing toward red line as you increase miles.....@ we don't beat the hell out of stuff right off the initial break in................So you could do small mods to the car chassis now, but hold off on the big motor stuff till after the first oil change @5500-7500 miles, also on my new 07 8 I will take it back to the dealer for that first oil service even though we do that in house to our 7s just because they will often have a computor rom burn upgrade they can thow in at the same time and check your other engine and chassis componants as well....FCRacing

well they were bitchin at me that they couldnt go below the sticker cause they already met their quota and it was their last Rx8. I just pulled the "ill go look somewhere else thanks anyways" and they dropped it 7k just like that. I was ther maybe 4 hours including all the stuff that needed to be signed. As for the mods I'm going performance but Im not messing with the tranny or internals. Ive heard though that an intake does not do much and the rotary is not good for handling turbo.

bmx you should wait until the end of the month because that is when they have to meet thier quota and are more easy to bargain with. Dont throw any numbers at them too early and dont seem too interested. I didnt bargain they just went from sticker to 20k which suprised me also.

There isn't anything you are going to mess with in the internals anyway. And you should read the 'Major Horsepower upgrades" section to find out about how this motor handles forced induction. Check out Pettit Racing and Massport as they have kits out already. Also the axial flow unit is set to come out with the release of the Cobb Access port as well as a lot of other stuff for such a small nitche market. Theres plenty to read here so get to it.
And congrats on that price its pretty amazing.

You are very happy guys!Look on a price of new RX-8 in Moscow...
Version 192hp MT is 44500$
Version 238hp MT is 50300$
Version 238hp AT is 51300$
If it`d cost 21-or 25,i suppose that all Russia`d drove Rx-8
I don`t know why we have so expensive price...

is your car a touring or sport??? what was the MSRP of your car? how much total off MSRP did they go?
the MSRP for a sport model 6 MT with no other options is 27000. so getting it for $21k is basically the $6k off others have reported.
when you say "out the door" ... most people interpret that to mean $21,000 TOTAL MONEY OUT THE DOOR..that means even sales tax, etc...
if you get the "sale price" to $21,000, in CA you will pay roughly 7.75% in taxes..making your $21000 sales price really have another $1600 in sales tax on top...so 22600 is what your OUT THE DOOR Price was...
OR do you really mean you paid $21,00 OUT THE DOOR including TAX? if that's the case, then the SALE price was actually closer to $19,500...
what exact trim level did you get?
what accessories or options did you get?
what was the MSRP?
what was the SALE price?
how much sales tax did you pay?
please give us that info..so we can see what the real deals are out there.
did you trade soemthign in?

I got the sport 6MT. I didnt add any options to it. The MSRP was 27,030. I paid the normal CA sales tax. I dont remember the exact amount but I have the paperwork put away. It was 21k and some change for the car out the door. I didnt have a trade in.
