Hello everyone,

Just thought I introduce myself to this community. Currently I drive '01 BMW M3, but I'm in the market for an RX8 so please excuse my newbie question.

I've notice a few members purchasing their car from anywhere between $500-$1500 over invoice. I did some searching and found that a few of these posts were a few months back.

Can anyone in the Austin TX area tell me what they are currently paying over invoice?

Tom

I am interested in this as well. Of course, I guess we can both go looking around town for them and report back/compare. If they won't deal, I won't buy. BTW, are you selling the M3 ?

Awesome, which dealers have you been to and what color are you looking for?

I'm currently deciding between red and silver, they both look great.

I still have the M3, its more of a weekend car. The RX8 will be my daily driver. Hopefully after we pickup our cars, we can attend the next meet together.:D

@mikeb
Thanks, the M3 is a great car but very expensive to modify. I hope the parts are much cheaper for the RX8 since I plan on adding a few items shortly after purchase.:D

Too bad about the m3 not being for sale Used ones are hard to find.

I haven't been to any dealers yet, but was planning on going this weekend if time permits. Part of the problem is I am not sure what I will get color-wise. All the colors look pretty good, only yellow and green are lower on my list. Secondly, I am also unsure if I will go with the Appearance package, or just save it and buy an MS kit. Third, I am also looking at other cars as options .... but they are behind RX8 at this point in time.

Thanks for the link Mike, I just bookmarked them.

Boarder, my girlfriend and I will probably start shopping around this weekend. We might go down to Houston next weekend if we can't find a good deal up here. I'll keep you updated as we go.

We are also leaving our options open for a SAAB 93 or G35 Coupe as well.

boarder,

This weekend I went to Mazda South and spoke with a salesman name Ken. He was fairly knowledgeable and a fun guy to chat with.

I test drove both the Mazda 6 and RX8 just to make my girlfriend happy. I think we've pretty much settled on the RX8. However since she can't drive a stick and we already have the M3, we're considering getting an auto. I've contacted a few Houston dealers over the weekend to see what kind of deal they can give me as an incentive to drive down there. So far Ken is willing to negotiate from invoice so he is on our list of potential dealers.

I'll try to post more information as I hear from the other dealers.

Tom
