That really depends on what kind of car were you driving.
if you drive a Civic, most likely they will let u go.
if u drive a RX-8, forget it, u're dead. Cuz cops think they're *smart* and they stereotype sports car.
Hell they pick me all the time. including 12 am @ 42nd ST, yep thats right, I got pulled over that midnight I didnt even do ****, oh wait, they pulled me over for *routine inspection* and then gave me a ticket of tinted window, when there were like at least 200 cars passby that time with darker windows than mine.

Also depends on the car.
I just checked with Geico
IF I change my policy now to
Same Rx-8, but only 1000 miles estimate annual mileage (yeah right), it drops the rate to about 850 bux for 1/2 yr.
and a BRAND NEW Suzuki SX4 Crossover, 8000 miles per yr, cost about the same as my now "almost 3 yrs old" Rx-8 @ 1K miles a year.

If only.
I'm 41 and I pay $1200 to Progressive every 6 months to insure the '8 and my Jeep.
Of course, I have $100 deductibles and full replacement coverage, but the traditional age "breaks" never happened for me because I'm listed as single and self-employed. My insurance actually went up when I turned 25. Probably based on inflation more than anything else, but there was no age reduction.
Not at 30 or 35 either. Or at 40. That is with a clean record.
Your credit rating and marital status have more to do with your insurance rate than just about anything.
When you are self-employed, you can have a 7-figure income and your credit rating will still be worse than a $30k a year schlep with a dozen credit cards (as long as he is current).
Especially if you are cash-basis.

My rates have been inching down for years only to be raised again for inflation.
I've been paying the same amount for insurance my whole life, regardless of what I'm driving or where.

I just dropped Progressive and saved $30 per month. I have full coverage for two vehicles and pay $1270 per year with a $500 deductible.
The biggest issue I have with Progressive is the way they handle claims. They apply a lot of pressure for you to have body work done at one of their approved body shops. In addition they want you to bring your car to a claims center to have one of their experts look over your vehicle and determine the value of the damage. They will then schedule work at one of the body shop's in their network. It is my understanding that the work can be spread over multiple shops to get your can done "on time".

I have Progressive and pay $290 per month with 6 points on my record...but I agree with MM, they seem to lock you into a rate and keep you there...seems like I've been paying between $260 and $300 per month for as long as I can remember, while my GF with her Ford Fusion pays like $160...it's probably the types of cars we chose to drive as enthusiasts.

QUOTE=alz0rz;2388030]age...?
it's all relative.. you will find many people here paying in the $300 range for full coverage while you find the more mature crowd paying alot less.. stereotypes on driving habits with age? maybe..

Yeah but I am only 27. I keep wondering why people are paying 200-300 who are older than me and from what they are saying got better credit. Does it all boil down to LocatioN?
I changed my annual mileage from 5k to 10k recently and it didn't change my insurance rate much, just went from 83 to 83.60 something.

Insurance companies are really insuring you as a driver. Your vehicle is somewhat secondary. The less of a risk you are to them, the better your rates.
There are many factors that go into insurance rates.
Age
Income
Credit rating
Number of insurance companies you have been with
Married
Single
Kids
Driving record
Type of vehicle
Crime rate where you live and work
General income of your neighborhood
Number years where you work

I did get a ticket, Stop sign(fuxk cop lied! I didnt do it!), 2 points, but my insurance went even lower (b4 ticket 1500 something, after ticket renewal 1300 something)
Geico, All Geico.
when I first got Geico it was like 1800 bux for 1/2 yr. Progressive is about the same as Geico, reason I got Geico is that, it covers mechcanical breakdown. 250 ded. not bad IMO.

1920 a month about 1486 a month after taxes
692 last I checked.
GEICO Parents Policy
Sincle No Kids
No Tickets, 1 Non Fault Accident
NYC Crime rate... but my car will be 90% parked in Driveways and Parking Lots.
My Hood? Middle Class, my house is worth about 400-450grand, so w\e.
I recently returned to a job I was with for 2 years.
I was just thinking of something I have a bank account right now, with no money in it, because I keep most of my money saved as cash. If insurance detects my income based on the money going in my accounts, they might be assuming that I don't have any lol? Maybe thats why my rates are higher?

If you have more drivers than cars in your house, it'd be better for you to be an occasional driver.

Income doesn't play into rates in the US either. Insurance companies don't have access to your bank account history, just the info you give for them to get paid. Based on the information you gave I would say it is the same thing that got everyone else that complained...New York State. I'm not saying it is a bad state...just that it is an expensive state to insure in.
